I recommend Denise a million times over. What she did to my hair was AMAZING! I get soo many compliments on my hair at least several times a day! I won't see anyone else! The salon over all, was wonderfull!! All the staff there is soo nice! I recommend Avalon hair salon to anyone and everyone!

Denise did a fantastic job on my hair!. Denise did a fantastic job on my hair! I normally do not write reviews- but Denise is well worth a 5 star rating. I have really long, black, and healthy hair so I'm extremely protective and sensitive about who touches or cuts it. For one, I research and I take all reviews into consideration- which is how I chose Avalon. I've been searching for a couple of days and Avalon's ratings were one of the best in San Antonio. So I called and booking an appointment was convenient, easy, and flexible.

So what's important to me? The PRICE and a GOOD HAIRCUT. The reasons why I gave Denise the rating I did is for the following reasons:

1. My face is round and I like my hair long! Round faces are so hard to work with because a bad hair cut will make a round face look fat or chubby! But, while the person getting the haircut has the say, the person with the scissors unfortunately has the power to make you look fabulous or like you let a 7 year old cut your hair.

My hair is LONG! I told Denise- I like my hair long, but that I'm open to any haircut that will flatter the shape of my face. You see, just because a salon such as Avalon has good ratings does not mean that ALL their stylists are great. The salon has to show you what they got with WHO they got. So I gave Denise the benefit of a doubt and she gave me her opinion. She showed me how much she will cut and WHERE the tips of my hair would end. She stayed true to her intention. Needless to say, even before she began straightening my hair and after she blow dried and cut it- I was impressed. I'm rarely satisfied with my haircuts, but with Denise I was both satisfied and impressed. So she represented the Salon well and in my eyes their 5 star ratings are legitimate.

2. She is so energetic! She smiles, laughs, and she's funny! A happy go lucky kind of woman. I'm big on first impressions, Denise definitely gave me a positive and respectable one.

As for Avalon the salon itself, I walked in not knowing the prices. However, the PRICE was reasonable and quite the deal for a good haircut. I normally pay $65 dollars for what ends up to be a substandard haircut- but Avalon starts at $39. I paid $39 for a shampoo, haircut, and style/blow dry (that's excluding tip) for an ABOVE STANDARD haircut.

I recently went to Avalon Salon and got a highlight and haircut by Deanna. My hair turned out so well, the color is amazing and the cut is great. My hair has shape and life again. She even called me a few days later to make sure I was still completely satisfied with me hair. I will definitley be going back. Thanks :)…

DON'T USE DENISE!!!!!!!!!!. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD LONG HAIR BUT THIN AND FINE. I WAS VISITING IN SA AND HEARD ABOUT THIS SALON, SO I DECIDED TO TRY IT. I ASKED DENISE NOT TO CUT MY HAIR ABOVE MY SHOULDERS. SHE KEPT GIGGLING, TALKING, AND CUTTING. THE MORE SHE TALKED THE SHORTER MY HAIR BECAME. MY HAIR IS SHORTER THAN MY HUSBANDS. HE HAS KNOW NICKNAMED ME "BUTCH". I PAID HER AND LEFT. IT IS SO SHORT I CAN'T EVEN USE THE SMALLEST ROLL BRUSH. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THE SALON AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND DENISE TO ANYONE.…
