The Worst Movers I've Ever Hired
by tlh2263
The home that I was renting was foreclosed on because the owner defaulted on the loan, and didn't bother to tell me. I only had a week until the deadline to vacate the premises, from the company who bought it at the auction. The movers that moved me here were great, but had nothing open for the 31st. I called All my Sons, and was told there would be no problem geting me out in time. I called their office this morning and let them know that I was behind in packing, and asked if they coudl come later in the day. I was assured that it wouldn't be a problem and they could help me pack upon arrival. When they showed up at my door, the crew leader didn't greet me or introduce himself. He looked over my shoulder and said there was too much to move in one day. There were several calls back and forth between him and the owner, and then the owner and myself. They agreed to do it until I told them that I had plenty of packing supplies and wouldn't need to buy supplies from them. The last time the owner called me, he quoted me a price of $1600 more for their supplies and time helping to pack. This was a $2600 increase in the estimated cost. After that, the owner said he would come out to see the situation himself. When he arrived I told him that I still had several boxes and 9 of the 3 and 4 foot plastic containers left to pack in. That's when they decided to walk off the job, knowing that I had to be out today or else. Mind you, I was paying by the hour, so they wouldn't lose a dime on the deal. I had asked them to start loading the numerous boxes and backyard furniture while I continued to pack, but they refused to load anything unless I bought their supplies, which ran $20 per roll of tape, and I was afraid to ask what their boxes went for. That's when I called Movin On, out of San Antonio, the ones I had used previously. They couldn't have been nicer. They agreed to show up at 8 a.m., with a five man crew and two trucks.. I have never seen movers who worked so fast and so hard in my life. They are a Christian based company and have impeccable manners and work ethics. Unless you have bottomless pockets and enjoy , working with people who act as though they're the ones doing you the favor, I suggest you try Movin On or anyone else for that matter.

unfair practice

this is a very deceivious company with unfair practices to its customers and its on the field employees. they over charge the customer with hidden fees ,such ascharges for tape that is never used by the customer.at the cost of 20$ .with at lease 10 job a day thats 200.00 for nothing, then they charge at lease a half an hour travel time to the customer which is legit ,but then they charge 35.00 additional for fuel surcharge ,and i see thats as charging twice for the same thing (travel/fuel ) same thing right. then this is the good part if the job happens to take over 8hr they charge you overtime, but they dont pay the field worker overtime is that fair .time and a half is what they charge if your already paying 120.00 an hour, now your paying 180.00 an hour .the workers in the field are first class,so if you decied to used this company ,tell office that you refuse to pay double fees or pay for somthing that may not be used or pay for overtime, and use the money saved to share with the ones who really do the work. or keep the saving to youself if the work wasent up to par. dont be fooled by the double talk these places like this are out to flease you wallets.,and at the same time flease the worker, god forbid that something should get broken ,because this company that is suppose to be insured and bonded ,charges the worker for actual cost and pays nothing is that fair or even legal,if there someone who knows i would appreciate if you would let me know.ive been moving funiture for a long time for alot of different companies ,and these guy in the office are some slick crooks
