I tried to use this vet, but they took advantage of me. I took my two pups in for a "deskunking" bath and for whatever shots they needed. (I thought they were behind on their annual rabies/parvo/bordatella).

When I checked them in that morning, they told me they only needed the bordatella, but recommended some kind of 6-month blood panel, kidney check, etc.

I told them I didn't want all that, I just wanted the 6-month shot and the baths. I was very clear about that, and them the dogs did not come in contact with the skunk - it was on the other side of a neighbor's fence. But the skunk spray drifted over and they smelled a little. She handed me a paper that said Deskunking bath and semi. So I signed it. That evening I went to pick up my dogs and was handed a bill for $301!!! I asked for the itemized bill and found my dogs had been given "6-month" exams, heartwork antigens, fecal screenings and other things I had not consented to!

When I asked to speak to someone about it - the girl who was checking me out simply shrugged her shoulders and said the person who checked me in wasn't there and someone would have to call me in the morning. The office manager did in fact call me and apologized and said there was some kind of miscommunication and she would talk to the girl who checked me in and would see if she could put some of the money back on my credit card.

Now it's a week later and no credit has appeared on my card. I've left 3 messages - and no return calls.

I think the doctors are nice, but $$$ are definitely the priority here.

Edited to clarify: Neither Dr. Lord or Dr. McIlheney really had anything to do with this. I said it before and I will say it again - I think they are both GREAT vets and seem to show compassion for their patients and their jobs. But the front desk staff is completely out of touch with relating to clients. I truly hope they get their issues resolved.
