Watch out for the bait and switch scam at Lone Star Dodge. They will put a vehicle on Craigslist and a cheap price, get you into the dealership and then tell you it is not ready to put up for sale yet. They will let you test drive the vehicle and tell you they are going to take it back for service and safety checkup. They will end up telling you they cannot sell you that vehicle because it has too many problems and is a liability for them to sell it. Then they will offer to find you a similar vehicle, well that vehicle they find you is twice as much. Watch out for this scam!
Worst car buying experience ever!!!!. I would ask anyone looking at this page to take notice that 2 of the 5 star reviews on this page are actually for NORTH STAR DODGE NOT LONE STAR CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP. I'm happy that those 2 people had such great experiences at North Star Dodge. I, on the other hand, had a horrendous experience at LONE STAR CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP!! This dealership is full of slimy & unethical people. Purchased a used care here and after working very hard to get the purchase price down to something that we felt comfortable with they slipped in an extra $1995 during financing. We agreed to purchase the extended warranty, so when the amount financed was higher than what I had roughly figured we would be financing I attributed the higher amount to the warranty and stupidly signed the contract. It kept nagging at me so the next day I broke out my calculator and started going over all the figures. It turned out there was an extra $1995 that I could not account for. I immediately called the dealership and asked to speak with the finance guy (Mr. Trevino). Spent the next 4 days trying to get this taken care of. Finally had to go into the dealership and basically refused to leave until I found out what this additional $1995 was. Turns out that some how "I agreed" to some ridiculous dent/ding & fabric protection plan. First of all, I DID NOT agree to any such thing and second of all if I did how come I didn't have any paperwork on this plan like I did my extended warranty? Mr. Trevino basically gave me the old "well its a contract which you signed so it's a done deal". Great customer service there, huh? That didn't sit well with me so I tried to take it one step further and called to speak with the GM. Thought I was gonna get somewhere with him, but I got sucked back into that loop of "let me look into it and I'll call you back". That took another 4 or 5 days with me having to call back every day trying to see what was going on. Ended up being referred back to Mr. Trevino who apologized and said he messed up and didn't realize that they bundled the extended warranty with the dent/ding/fabric crap. Also tells me that unfortunately this plan cannot be cancelled but my warranty can be. Helloooo...the warranty was the one I actually agreed to stupid! Told him that if I have to keep it I need some information on it like I have on my warranty. Went to pick up this information and it clearly says it can be cancelled within the first 10 days. Well guess what??? We were at day 11. So the whole reason I was being blow off was so the 10 days would lapse and I couldn't cancel the stupid plan I never agreed to purchase. Sounds pretty sleezy huh? I warn all of you to stay as far away from this place as possible!!!!! Thieves...that's what they are.
Awsome experience. 1. Clean office 2. well understanding of each suv shown, opened them up - showed us how it would work for our family and our mothers needs. This is our first new car ever in our lifes.
great buying experience :). My husband and I have been looking for a new vehicle for months we have been to dealerships after dealerships. One thing I loved about North Star Dodge, very professional and the whole time we were there, I did not feel pressured nor swindled. Laura Jones, Internet Director helped us first and she was prompt, honest, dependable and great. Wayne our sales guy, great heart: once again my husband and I did not feel as if the staff wanted to get a quick buck. Wayne was great, caring and listened to our needs. We already knew which car we wanted, we did our research and the guys at North Star Dodge came through for us and I recommend them again and again and again. We purchased a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica, great mileage and an outstanding waranty, being that we have kids this is definetly what we needed. When I am looking for another vehicle I definetly know where to go. Thanks you guys, you have made my second car buying experience a great one: )
