I've been a pet owner for over 15 years and I used to dread going to the vet until I found this hospital. At other vet hospitals I have had to wait forever to see a doctor and rushed out after an impersonal visit. Not here. The entire office is staffed by sincerely warm, polite professionals. I always leave feeling like they love my dogs as much as I do.
The veterinarians here are obviously skilled in the latest technology and go out of their way to provide quality care. Every time I visit they thoughtfully explain all the options and offer very clear advice on how to address health issues. I've never had anyone here pressure me to purchase useless and expensive pet products. I have seen three different veterinarians here and they always suggest low cost, high quality products when discussing treatment options.
It's obvious everyone here genuinely loves pets and the few times outside of shots that I've had to bring my dogs for emergencies, the veterinarians have gone out of their way to respond appropriately and provide follow-up.
The office itself is a very clean and well-maintained environment with tile floors and paint colors that make the place soothing and warm. Not your typical white and gray clinical environment.
I give this place my highest recommendation without reservations. You will get the highest quality of care here for a very reasonable price. They will love your pets, too!
First Rate Care

I have taken two dogs to Acres North over the past four years---they had been recommended to me by Alamo Hts Kennel, and I have not been disappointed. The staff are friendly, professional, but above all, caring. I have worked with all the vets and am comfortable with everyone, but have worked most with Drs. Abernathey and Anderson, both of whom are first rate. Prices are reasonable. All the staff, from office mgr to techs to receptionists, give the impression that they enjoy being there and giving good service---it is just a very positive environment, and they win your trust with excellent service. Could not be more confident in the care they provide.

I am a new resident of San Antonio and like most consulted the internet for reviews of where to take my three dogs/children for grooming and their vaccinations. Upon consulting Acres North I was impressed by the receptionist, Linda, who displayed a genuine care and concern. I inquired the cost of grooming and the vaccinations, although higher than I expected, I elected for their health to have it done...Trusting in the information I was given. Upon returning to pick them up what was originally a quote of 68.00 total for the three shots and examination per pet, 50.00 grooming per pet, my final bill was 509.00! I was then told it is TEXAS STATE LAW every dog must have an examination in order to receive shots, not so, but to my horror, all three of my pets had knicks, cuts and were bleeding....I AM LIVID. It is not about the money as I put their needs before my own. It is about the complete DISHONESTY and INJURY to my pets. I will be seeking legal counsel. Owners beware!!!!

My cat got sick and I was very worried about taking him to a vet I didnt know. But when I walked in the front door they were so nice and helpful. I had no problem leaving them in their care! Sandra was so nice and called me to keep me updated on my baby boy. They are up front with all costs and let you know before they pile the bills on! They impressed me, and I will be back!
- Pros: Location, Affordable, nice staff
- Cons: none known!
Staff is wonderful

The staff is wonderful; they will do everything in their power to do whatever you need. Friendly, love the animals. Pricing seems to be going up dramatically lately, & I'm not getting the same vet every time, so I wonder about continuity of care.
- Pros: Staff is amazing
- Cons: differnet vets each time
