ElectrocauterizationIt consists of touching the skin w/ an electric needle & destroying the cluster of dilated blood vessels. A topical numbing agent may be applied to decrease discomfort.
Liquid NitrogenLiquid nitrogen is a cold, liquefied gas that is sprayed on the skin w/ a spray gun. This works by freezing & destroying the dilated blood vessels.
Surgical ExcisionThis is a sterile surgical procedure, where dr. ghohestani will surgically remove the cluster of dialed blood vessels & suture the area closed. This procedure will require a follow up visit within 10 days.
LaserLaser uses a beam of concentrated light to close down the blood vessel. This is the procedure of choice because laser is the only non-scarring treatment option. When the angioma is flat, typically only one treatment will be needed. However, if it is raised several treatments may be required. A topical numbing agent may be applied before laser treatment, to decrease discomfort.
