Dr Michael Becker in a very caring person. I have made use of his services for over 30 years and I would not go anywhere else. I must admit I have used other vet offices when I was forced to (in an emergency), but if I could wait to get to Dr. Becker's office I would and will. I have currently two dogs and two cats. Dr. Becker treats my oldest dog (she is 16 years old) for pain related to back problems and my younger dog for Asthma (she is 3 years old). In the past Dr. Becker has treated two of our animals for cancer (both have passed away from it, as it was not curable). Dr. Becker will never put an animal to sleep if the family does not want him too, but he will let you know when it is the best thing to release the animal from trauma. He is a great man and I will always be in his debt for not only caring for my animals feelings, but also my own as well.

I have been going to Dr. Becker since before his ciinic was named after him. We have always had great care for my pets. Sure you have to wait your turn, but don't you have to wait to see your Dr. with an appointment?!!! Dr Becker has been there day and night and is EXTREMELY dedicated to his profession. I have used their boarding service and it is great. I recommend him to my friends.

I had an emergency with my 12 year old cat on a weekend and when I took Fancy to Dr. Becker I was amazed by the level of comfort I felt immediately. Fancy ended up having to get a little surgery. Dr. Becker explained in detail with visual aide from a book what was wrong and what was going to happen during the surgery. He took his time with me and made sure I knew what to expect. Although his office closes at 5 p.n. on weekends he kept me in the loop and called me personally on her progress throughout the procedure and when she was ready for me to pick her up it was 8 at night and he was still there. I remember thinking with these hours 7 days a week he must be dedicated BIG TIME so now I will take all of my animals to him. Thanks Dr. Becker!!!
Pros: Excellent Care
Cons: Long wait time, but worth it

I am quite new to the Becker Animal Hospital. I have four cats and one geriatric Jack Russell Terrier. Each of our animals has been seen by Dr. Becker for inoculations and general health check-ups, and I will continue to follow up their health care needs with this veterinarian. I find Dr. Becker to be caring and personable. My animals seem at ease in his presence. His many staff members have been helpful and respectful. There is a lot of activity at the Becker Animal Hospital, and I can only surmise that is because he has a large, and obviously pleased clientele. I find is rates reasonable, and I believe that Dr. Becker and his staff do, sincerely love animals. Sandra L. Nash

I am Dr. Mike Becker, and this is a rebuttal to the post written by "xskittlehead" on 9-01-07. This women and her daughter came into our office at 9 pm at night on 8-29-07 for an examination on their rodent. I examined thier pet, explained very thourghly that this pet may be older, and that among other things it could have had a stroke. I explained in detail the course of treatment involving a combination antibiotic and corticosteroid injection, along with a prognosis and a list of differential dianosis. I also offered to refer them to a Board Certified Specialist at the South Texas Veterinay Specialists in Stone Oak. Both the mother and daughter were very uncommunicative, and when I walked three steps out of the exam room to pull up the computer chart, they both ran out the door and drove away without any communication or any attempt to pay for their services. In another post these people wrote, they stated that they then went to an emergency clinic, where the pet was diagnosed with a possible stroke and treated with steroids. This is exactly what I had told them in our office. Three days later I recieved a letter with obscenities on the address line personally directed at me. They also enlcosed a temporary check again with obscenities directed to me on the "Pay to the Order of" line. At our hospital we are open 7 days a week and no appointment is neccessary to come in. Anyone can come in and we will be glad to see them and help them with their pet. We are open until 9 pm during the week and until 5 pm and often later on weekends. We like to help people with their pets. I never used the word "God" with this person, I never told her her pet would die, there is no Mystery Shot as i always explain in detail what we do. We are open 7 days a week and work late because we want to help people with their pets. Anyone is welcome to call and speak to me or my staff about our office. Michael C. Becker, DVM
