If you Must eat on the Riverwalk, this is the place to go. Best restaurant in San Antonio, maybe even Texas. Steaks and fish are exquisite. I love the fact that they make guacamole at your table

My family and I decided to go to this restaurant due to the recommendation of our ferry operator. I was in the mood for a hearty steak. It was advised to me that Boudros Bistro on the River had an excellent blackened prime rib. Needless to say I was intrigued. When we approached the entrance we were greeted outside by the hostess who offered indoor or outdoor seating. We chose to dine inside.
The ambience inside had a very European rustic feel. It kind of reminded me of a wine cellar. I?d definitely keep it in mind for a romantic night out.
We ordered the guacamole. It was prepared fresh in front of us by our waiter. Originally, I thought of it as just another novelty, but I had to say it did add to the dining experience. To my surprise again, I have to say I was impressed. Even if you don?t like guacamole, which I didn?t, you?ve just got to try theirs. It?s really that good.
Now for the main course, my blackened prime rib. I have to say I wasn?t really impressed. It wasn?t bad, but certainly not as memorable as the guacamole. Maybe it was because of the high expectation that was already set out there by our ferry operator, but I wasn?t kind of let down.
All and all, I?d still recommend Boudros Bistro on the River. I?d probably try a different main dish next time, but would definitely return.
Best Steak and Tuna!

Wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Boudros on the Riverwalk. They have a very interesting menu with good variety in tastes and price. The Black Angus Filet Mignon was the best I've had on the Riverwalk yet. I could almost cut it with my fork. Cooked to order, medium/rare, it was tasty and the veggies were great too. Bride had the Seared White Fin Tuna. It was so tender and soft, it almost melted in your mouth. The way it was prepared made it especially tasty as well. We had the Guacamole, which is made fresh table side, as an appetizer and it was delicious too. The service was efficient, courteous and attentive without being over the top. We had reservations on a Monday night, and it is certainly a good idea at a popular restaurant like this. It is not cheap but you don't go for your lungs either. The wine selections are interesting as are the desserts. The only draw back to the entire experience, we should have sat outside at Riverside. It gets a little noisy inside. Opt for that, weather permitting.
Best Prickly Pear Margarita Ever
by megandavison1 at Citysearch
My friends and I really enjoyed our trip to Boudro's to drink prickly pear margaritas and eat chips, salsa, and guacamole prepared fresh at the table. This was our favorite part of the week. Great service, Beautiful view etc.
- Pros: Prickly Pear Margaritas and Guacamole
- Cons: None
Just Okay / Service was not good

I dont know, I guess I was just expecting more. It was nothing to write home about. First, they could not find my reservation. It was our anniversary and I stated that when I made it. To their credit they sat us in about 5 min. The service was just ok. It better be good for the price you pay though. But it wasnt outstanding.
We ordered drinks and appitizers, they came, we are STILL holding our menus! The table they sat us at was tiny and for 2, which is fine, but the menus covered the table! So we have our salads in front of us, holding our menus, trying to eat. FINALLY the waitress came to take the menus and take our dinner order! She came by a couple of times and our empty cocktail glasses were present but never asked if we wanted another, nor took the empty glasses away!
I ordered the Big Tails Little Tails. It was way too salty! The risotto was overcooked and it was like they just added red chile pepper in everything and called it southwestern. My husband ordered the crab enchiladas, that again had too much red chilie pepper and was too salty. And I like salt!
It was LOUD...not very romantic, but thats ok cause that is not the waitstaff's or cook's fault. Like I said, it was mediocore. There are soooo many other places to eat than this place.
- Pros: Maybe the guacamole...
- Cons: too loud, too salty, bad service

One of San Antonio's Best

This is an all around great spot. Everything on the menu is excellent. I recommend the blackened prime rib. Nice wine list with reasonable prices. They have a wine bar across the street you can have drinks at while you wait. Service is good also.
- Pros: Appetizers, setting, service
- Cons: None
You gotta try it

This place is amazing. I've lived in san antonio for 2 years and cannot tell you how many times i've been here. We take all our visitors there. Better for lunch than dinner, Great salads at lunch and a killer rib eye sandwich too. The guacamole is infamous and you must must must try a prickly pear margarita. The only reason we prefer lunch to dinner is it does get really loud and crowded at night and we prefer the lunch menu. However the blackened prime rib on the dinner menu is one of a kind. Oh, and for sweet tooths, the brownie dessert is heaven. ;)
- Pros: Great food-everytime, tasty cocktails
- Cons: can get crowded, if eating on river people will practically be sitting on your lap
Wonderful!

My Boyfriend took me to Boudros for a romantic dinner and the food was absolutly wonderful, and the guacomole made at your table was awesome. My boyfriend gave the waiter my engagement ring and he put it in the top of the ice cream on our dessert. It was wonderful. Such a romantic place to go on a date and an even better place to be proposed to. We have now been married for 4 months.
- Pros: Quiet, Romantic, Great Service
Favorite part of our trip!

Me boyfriend and I went to Boudro's on our trip to San Antonio. We're young college students and don't have much money but we had heard great things about this place so we decided to go and try an appetizer. We got the wild mushrooms with goat cheese over polenta...pure heaven! We ordered some salsa and chips which were wonderful. Actually the best salsa we'd ever had. And my mojito was PERFECT. We sat outside on the Riverwalk, relaxed, and really enjoyed ourselves. We will come back here everytime we are in San Antonio!
- Pros: mojito, food, atmosphere
- Cons: pricey
A Riverwalk bistro with fusion flair.
by Contributor at Citysearch
The Scene
Boudro's enjoys a positive reputation--especially among Riverwalk establishments--and is consistently packed. Inside the limestone building, however, high-volume seating translates to a high-volume dining experience. Waiters lean toward an initial hard sell of premium cocktails and high-priced wines, followed by particularly long spells of inattention between courses.
The Food
A silky sweet corn sauce provides a wonderful foil for the crab- and shrimp-heavy seafood cake appetizer, while basil-lemon-mint sauce that accompanies the Colorado lamb T-bone chops entree can be faint to the point of invisibility. Garlic mashed potatoes are perfectly creamy, but grilled squash may arrive well past overcooked. As for desserts, coconut flan lacks both eggy richness and coconut flavor while dense, cinnamon-rich Louisiana bread pudding floats in a pool of apparently whiskey-free whiskey sauce.
- Pros: outdoor dining
