Best breakfast, very reasonbly priced. Sunday mornings, crowded, but does not take long to find a table
- Pros: Inexpensive, quick food, sunday landmark
Good food!

This is a very good place to eat in San Antonio. The service is great and the food is excellent. As the name suggests, it is definitely a "cafe"...not a nice restaurant to impress anyone.
My only complaint is that they served NO red picante sauce. The only hot sauce they had was verde. It was spicy, but not flavorful (to my taste). I didn't realize how much I loved red tomato-based salsa. I'm usually easy to please, but it totally ruined my meal. If red picante sauce is not a requirement for you when eating mexican food, this place is wonderful. If I had known there was none, I would have brought my own and been satisfied.
Awesome mexican food at great price

This place is not on the Riverwalk with the overrated high priced restaurants. This is a simple, high quality place that has fresh food with an authentic taste. The staff is friendly and this is where the locals eat. It is a 5 minute walk from most Riverwalk hotels on St Mary's and simply is the best. It is only open for breakfast and lunch, unfortunately. We had chorizo w eggs, refried beans, carne guisada and fresh tortillas and coffee - wonderful!!
- Pros: authentic food
- Cons: none
A San Antonio landmark.

There are literally thousands of mexican food restaurants in San Antonio. I would only recommend a few -- Blanco Cafe is one of the top five mexican food restaurants in San Antonio.
- Pros: tastes great, inexpensive, no frills
- Cons: zero ambience
