A Diamond in the Rough

This one is a gem if you want to stay away from the big box cookie cutter rooms. I liked the location (across from the Court House) on the quiet end of the river. Loved my morning walks along the river towards the missions.

The hotel is small and unpretentious but you get the authentic Texas experience.....murals painted by local artists. Legend has it that Santa Anna's army camped on this site before the Battle for the Alamo.

The recently refurbished rooms are five star as is the service. The pool area is a sanctuary. I love visiting san Antonio and staying at this hotel. I always come home recharged!

A boutique hotel with convenient access to the River Walk area.

The Scene
This 132-room hotel is a favorite with convention groups thanks to its prime downtown location and expansive meeting facilities for up to 350 people. Although the six-floor property hosts numerous conferences, it is also popular with holiday-goers and wedding parties. Along with many business-oriented facilities, the property houses an extensive fitness facility and a popular cigar and martini lounge.

The Details
Rose and blue pastels are used throughout the guest rooms and suites, providing a soothing note. The range of amenities are standard---i.e. in-room coffee. To capture the essence of the area, book a suite. All overlook the Paseo del Rio, better known as the River Walk.
