Best plants
by lolardz
OK, if you want a awsome looking plant that will last you for ever then this is the place to go!!!
The sales people are very attentive and always suggesting the right choices that would look the best... they also have work shops on Saturdays that they are a must do if you want to have plants that thrive. Perfect place to bring the kids on a Sunday afternoon.
You spend a little more but you get a lot more.
- Pros: Service, location, quality
- Cons: parking
Great service and selection, bit pricey
by khancock0
This nursery has a great selection of plants, particularly native plants, and excellent service. Most (but not all) employees are well versed in the plants they sell. Those who are less sure of their knowledge are honest and will refer you to someone who is more experienced. A few problems: plants are rather pricey and they do not guarantee the plants. I know several places that will replace plants, but this nursery is not one of them. I took back some plants the same day, after I realized I had bought shade plants for a sunny area. They agreed to replace them, but told me this was not the normal policy. That seemed to me rather strict.
- Pros: great selection and service
- Cons: pricey, strict return policy

Gardener-extraordinaire Bob Webster keeps this nursery alive with fresh ideas.

The Scene
Bob Webster, owner and regionally renowned garden-show radio host, has outfitted his nursery to please the greenest of thumbs. All will enjoy exploring the botanical merchandise that is artfully organized around the stone and wood-plank pathways. There's a structure devoted to orchids and other hot-house flowers and another that shelters indoor plants, including some that require 20-foot ceilings. The employees are helpful and enjoy discussing the pleasures and demands of horticulture.
The Goods
Plant-wise, this nursery has got it covered; every shade of green (and other colors) is represented here. Those that prefer indigenous and drought-resistant species will be pleased with the selection, as will organic gardeners. Although Webster promotes organic gardening, Shades of Green's inventory does include the more commonly known garden chemicals and fertilizers. Yard and garden accessories, pots and planters, and tools, seeds and books fill out the picture.
