User Reviews for Canyon Cafe - Alamo Quarry Market

We started going to Canyon Cafe about 6 months ago but stopped because the service was so terrible it overshadowed the great food. We gave it another try a month ago and it seems the service problem has been fixed. We've been a couple times since and each time the service was great. The mango chicken is a fav as are the burgers/sandwiches.

They have the best chicken fried steak I have ever had. The service was good, very prompt and the chips at the begining of the meal were a little different, but pretty good, the seasoning used was tasty and the textures was a nice change.. I would highly recommend this place.

Pros: good food, very yummy

Cons: the ceiling dripped a little water on us

The food was awesome - unique, even for the southwest! Everyone at the table had a plate of something totally different and we all walked out raving about our food. The jalapeno cream gravy was delicious and the banana burrito for dessert was amazing. Our table could have been cleaned off better but the booth was comfortable. The service was great and they even gave presents to the mothers at the table for Mother's Day. I am definitely recommending this place to all I know and can't wait to go again.

Pros: food originality, food presentation, Delicious food

Cons: crumbs on the seat

Absolutely one of the best places in town. I would pay for a plane ticket from the east coast for one of their hamburgers!

Southwest favorites plus a few spicy surprises, served up amid pseudo-ranch decor.  See the full editorial review.

Insider Tips

Where to Sit

The elevated booths near the front window are cozier than the tables and offer a nice view of the fire bowls, particularly at night.
