Florio's by far, hands down- BEST Pizza in San Antonio
by lee411 at Citysearch
So I am a Brooklyn, NY native. I know what NY pizza - not the fancy pretend NY pizza is supposed to look like and supposed to taste like - and this IS IT!
I'm talking thin foldable crust and melt in your mouth goodness. That's Florio's! The reviews about attitude are ridiculous, and if are true, just adds to the experience. Put on your big girl panties and just eat! Someone says they dread walking up to the counter. That is hilarious and sad. The lady behind the counter is fine. You know you have morning people, you have night people, you have peppy people, you have dry serious people. We are all different. Appreciate it!
My husband is a native Texan. He will also tell you its the best pizza he's ever had and he is not bothered by any so-called gruffness. Who knows? Maybe he's been married to me too long. Actually he says she's always been very pleasant to him. My all time favorite - Cheese pizza. His favorite - Sausage & Pepperoni.
Go to Florio's - Enjoy the food - Enjoy the experience!!
Pizza is great! Woman at register...not so great.
by heylee99 at Citysearch
I really enjoy the pizza here! It's not only delicious, it's cheap. The only thing i don't appreciate is the lady, Pat, up at the register. When she is talking she doesn't stop to greet a new customer, she simply stares, after a min. or two of finishing her conversation, and says "Whaddya want?" She is impatient and rude and everyone in my family and some people here i noticed, don't seem to like her either. I just started going back...but i always dread walking up to that counter.
Best pizza this side of NYC!
by Prezgal at Citysearch
we are there on a regular basis for the amazing pizza, and what may be their best kept secret, spumoni. Now understand, I am Irish, married to an Italian...yikes! I have never liked spumoni...it always had weird stuff in it, and the name sounded like a medical condition....anyway, I tried theirs, and was instantly hooked!!! Now it's pizza and spumoni...might sound odd till you try it...really a treat! The absolute best food, all family recipes! I can't imagine the people who say they're not friendly...what's the problem, can't you take a joke? Pat (at the front) is the bomb!
What Fantastic Pizza -- And A Great Family!
by Reem2 at Citysearch
What's wrong with those of you who don't like the lady at the cash register? She's great -- and funny, and she'll remember you the next time you come in to eat. She, and her mother who sits at the little table by the door, her father, and her brother really make Florio's the warm, personal, and very friendly family pizza place that it is. And the pizza is, without question, the best we've had anywhere in San Antonio. And everyone we take there agrees. So, those of you who for whatever reason feel like you need to complain about Florios, you can just go to Pizza Hut
Hot Spot
by RK1 at Citysearch
The food and the service are great. Florio's is a very busy restaurant for a reason. If you like the food, go back. If you were unhappy with anything, don't go back. I can go into Florio's at any given time and have no problems with the customer service. I was friendly toward the staff upon my first visit and they returned the favor. There's no need to be so negative. We're all adults. It's easy enough to just say you will not go back. As for me, Florio's is the hot spot, love the food and enjoy the company of Florio's staff.
Best Family Run Pizzaria

I love the NY family charm of this place! Plus the food is not bad either! There is a reason why this place is ALWAYS busy. Those who love great pizza are always here!
If you think the pizza's good - try the "Hero"
by russmorse at Citysearch
This is one of the best I've found in San Antonio. We moved from Rochester New York 10 years and struggled to find good Pizza. The family makes great NY style pizza and the Cold Cut Hero is better than anything I've found (including in NY).
Grow Up People and Grow Some!!!
by piferdj at Citysearch
I have read from the people that they are so rude...and blah..blah...blah...well I am sorry they are not there to wipe your butt period!! This is the BEST pizza and I go to no other place...I am from New York...this is how pizza is supposed to taste like. So drop your ego and grow some because Patty and crew don't have time for people that get offended easily or feel that they need to cater to their every need...I just think...NEXT and move your winey butt somewhere else because I have Pizza to eat YUM!!!
- Pros: Phenomenal Pizza - The Real Deal
- Cons: Not For Cry Babys!!
WORST!!!

Never going back!!!
Got a gift certificate so we tried to get take out, the conversation ended with curse words.
Gave them another chance and ate there, pizza was greasy and salty.
Because they are in the neighborhood, we went again (against instincts.) The staff was so rude.
Just because you are from NY doesn't give you the right to be awful to people!!!!
You have been in Texas long enough to learn manners and customer service.
- Cons: Bad Service, mediocre pizza, weird hours
Rude Service tainted the pie
by edover at Citysearch
Probably the best pizza I have had in Texas since I moved from N.Y. over 20 years ago. The taste however, was over shadowed by the extremely rude phone service. I had never ordered from the restaurant before and the woman who took the order was less than helpful. All New Yorkers are NOT rude. Customer service is all part of the experience. It's a shame, I live less than a mile from this restaurant, but I will not be back.
