You'll Definitely Be Treated Poorly
by JMorrissey at Citysearch
I've grown accustomed to a certain routine upon opening the door and entering a restaurant. Usually, I'll be greeted courteously and shown to a table, or asked politely to wait if there are no tables available. Florio's definitely has their own way of doing things. After walking in the door to the dining room, I had to walk back to the bar area to find anybody. There I was "greeted" by an unsavory looking old woman who looked like she was nursing one hell of a hangover. Her greeting was in the form of a gruff statement that they didn't open until 5:00 P.M. This was at 4:27 P.M., and according to what I saw online they are open from 11:30 A.M to 9:30 P.M. I would like to note that there were no hours of operation posted on the door I entered the restaurant through, and that door was UNLOCKED! Most businesses have begun to employ the newer door lock technology that has recently become available to ensure no unauthorized personnel enter when they are closed. I was really looking forward to trying this pizza based on the reviews I read here, but after the warm welcome and inviting appearance of the people slouched over the table in the bar, I feel lucky not to have ingested anything they prepared.
- Pros: I didn't get sick, but then again I had no food.
- Cons: Barbaric customer service
Great Pizza!

This place had the best pizza! The cashier lady up front is very RUDE! This isn't a very "kid friendly" environment. They have absolutely NO high chairs in the restaurant.
- Pros: Great Pizza
- Cons: Poor Service, Not Kid Friendly
BEST PIZZA
by Kimmiw at Citysearch
I have been reading the reviews for this fabulous eatery! They absolutely have the BEST pizza in town, quite possibly in the state, and they serve it up with some great NJ attitude! If you can't handle the sharp wit and the quickeness in which it is served, go somewhere else. Wait no don't go somewhere else..the rest of us need a good laugh!
- Pros: Its all good!
- Cons: NONE
Pizza with spice
by EllieP at Citysearch
Being from NY this place is a lot like the standard NY/NJ pizza joint. The food is great. The salads are weak (just like in NY/NJ). If you sit at the counter you'll even hear a little of the NY/NJ attitude. Watch long enough and it becomes obvious that all insults and sharp remarks are sent out with love. It is just a cutural way of communicating. If you don't like it just take the great pizza and eat it at home! YUM!
- Pros: great food, great fun
- Cons: salads are weak
Good Food, Awful Service
by tsuehpsyde at Citysearch
As you read in the tons of review on here, whoever the lady is at the register is about as cantankerous as one could expect out of any human being. God help you if you are looking the menu over and she's ready to take your order. Not to mention they require a $10 minimum purchase to use a credit card, which goes against the ToS with VISA.
And it's not like it's a cute or whitty kind of joking around. The lady is genuinely mean and unappealing to be around at all. What makes it worse is, the other people tend to be some what nice, but the queen of pain up front keeps all of the client communications to herself, which obviously she shouldn't be doing.
The food is okay...it's greasy, and while I know some pizza is supposed to be, I usually let it drain before I eat it. Not to mention they have the drinks setup so they refill them for you, and sometimes you have to wait like 2-3 mins. just to refill your drink (and the glasses they provide are laughably small).
Flat out, if they were nicer, a bit more prompt about service and didn't impose their silly, technically unallowable minimum perchase amount, the place would be fantastic. For the price, the food is good (but again, is sometimes greasier than others). For now, I've stopped going here primarily thanks to Miss Grumpy Pants, and secondly due to the CC minimum amount silliness. There are plenty of better places to eat around San Antonio.
- Pros: Food is good to decent
- Cons: Service is awful, food can be greasy
Best Pizza in San Antonio, hands down!
by 99Kathy at Citysearch
This pizza is fantastic and best if eaten right out of the oven. The cheese is tasty, the sauce is homemade, the toppings have fantastic flavor and they are unique. The Cold Italian sub is to die for......I don't know what they put on it and in it exactly but the flavor will bring you to your knees and make you come back over and over again. And if you get to know the family you will absolutely adore them....! But don't try to get the recipe from them, they ain't given it up! Love you guys at Florios ..... don't ever close down! Tonya, Kathy, Bo and Evonne......WE LOVE YOU GUYS.....!
- Pros: Taste of pizza, price of pizza and those Cold Italian Subs!
- Cons: Long drive from my house!
From Jersey what do you expect?

awesome pizza for those who know... my boyfriend is from up that way and says it's the only place he wants when he wants pizza... that "mean old lady" only has an attitude when you take your time ordering, ask stupid questions or request a fork lol other than that she can be her version of courteous .... this is a must if pizza hut just doesn't cut it
- Pros: Example: best croissants in town
- Cons: What are the drawbacks?
Great NJ/NY pizza in SA!!
by nicolesa at Citysearch
My husband is from NJ and we have been searching for this type of pizza here in SA. After reading an article in a local magazine, we tried it and LOVED IT!!! The "mean lady" (taken from other reviews) behind the counter was more than nice, she was SUPER NICE. She talked to us and answered questions about the business. I think the people making the comments are the jerks. I have lived here all my life and the whole thing about southern hospitality is pure B.S., so quit crying and grow up!! We will be back soon!!!
- Pros: great pizza, great service, great prices
- Cons: none
A Treat To Be Relished
by jenblossom32 at Citysearch
This restaurant is out of the way for me (Alamo Heights) so when I do go there I'm salivating from the fact that I know this pizza is going to give my taste buds an explosion of stretchy, greasy (in a good way) , salty mozzarella, tangy sauce bursting with homemade flavor and a thin crust that crunches so good and melts in my mouth. When you want authentic terrific "pizza pie" , make the trip to Florio's. I can easliy say that nobody makes a pie like them. Caparelli's does compare. The only pizza that will pass the taste test besides Florio's is Napoli's in Boerne.
- Pros: Thumbs up!
- Cons: Thumbs up!
Great pizza

Delicious thin-crust, NY style pizza. I moved away from San Antonio, and have miss this place. I recommend the sausage.
- Pros: sausage
- Cons: NYC attitude sometimes, but not bad
