What users are saying:
An eatery that combines a pan-global winelist and a menu emphasizing Greek, Spanish and French cuisines.

In Short
Boardwalk Bistro's recipes may derive from traditional Mediterranean kitchens, but are frequently tweaked by owners Barbara and Randy Hunt. Lunch and dinner menus vary noticeably, and the price shift is significant as well. The Bistro caters to a mostly Alamo Heights crowd, but the unusual combinations mean almost anyone can find something on the menu.
Fantastic Mediterranean Cuisine!

Boardwalk Bistro is such a charming little escape so close to downtown! I like the daily specials.....there is always a rustic, old world style special. The lamb ragout is out of this world, as are the tagines, and boulibaisse. But I've dined on a poached salmon there as well that was impeccably prepared. Wine selections are solid. Plus live music during the week is a nice to dine by. Highly recommend!
- Pros: The daily specials, daily wines by the glass, exotic spices and flavors spun with traditional ingredients
- Cons: None
Good Mediterranean menu

Pretty good service. Expect a little bit of a wait for your foodEuropean style. OK atmosphere, but nothing to get excited aboutthe place was actually pretty empty for a Saturday evening. The Caesar salad was bland. Crab-stuffed salmon tasted good, but not excellent. Presentation of food was very nice. Menu selection isn't huge, but if you're looking for some good Mediterranean fare, give it a shot. I don't know if I'll be back or not.
- Pros: Uniqueness of menu, presentation of food
- Cons: Bland Caesar salad

I try having lunch at Broadway Bistro every other week. Never have gone wrong with their advertised special for the day.
GREAT COZY ATMOSPHERE

Truly enjoy this cozy place for great dining and entertainment. Its great for a nite with someone special or just hang out with your girlfriends and chat! Food is great, desserts are to die for, service excellent, and ZAMAR plays great salsa jazz sounds to make the nite complete.
From Everyday to Gourmet

Absolutely loved the tapas influenced appetizers. The use of the sauces for presentation were very impressive. after deciding on the entrees we ordered a bottle of Marques de Casares rioja, which was very smooth and paired well with the hot and crunchy trout and the seafood paella. As if the food was not enough we ordered dessert. My friend enjoyed the tiramasu and I have never had a pear dessert so delicious. We have plans on returning for the lamb tagine for dinner soon.
- Pros: open mid day, assortment of menu, excellent wine
- Cons: closed on Sunday
Relaxing Fun Dinner!

The decor / atmosphere is a little dowdy, but very comfortable. The service and food were both fantastic - best dolmas I have had in a long time! We will be back!
- Pros: variety of flavors, cosy chairs, quiet nooks
- Cons: cluttered entry
