Best Massage Ever!

by Shumba76

I've gone to several spas in San Antonio and I absolutely love A.R.T. Massage Body Spa! It's located in a cute bungalow near downtown. The atmosphere is very relaxing and soothing. I've had excellent customer service and Tasha is the best massage therapist I've ever had. I go quite frequently and have yet to be disapointed. I will not go any where else but A.R.T. Massage Body Spa. I hope that others will find this unique spa as wonderful as I do.

  • Pros: Ambience, Customer Service, Reasonbly Priced, Excellent Massage Skills

Sorry for the let down.

by artbodyspa

Hi, my name is Alison McLaughlin and I own A.R.T. Massage Body Spa. This is in response to the last reviewer. I sincerely apologize that we did not meet your expectations. We take great pride in the location and style of our building. While some may prefer a more generic, clinical strip-center setting, we feel our 1920's bungalow is a charming look that is very appealing. In terms of the construction, I do agree it is a bit of a pain. Unfortunately, we do not have any control over this matter. Thank goodness we have been in business for nearly nine years and our loyal clientele has allowed us to survive this short but necessary construction project. At A.R.T. Massage we take great pride in the Eminence organic facial line we carry. While the therapists are passionate about these products, they make their income through the services, not the product sales.

I value client feedback and I am personally at the spa most business hours. We?re constantly striving to exceed our client?s expectations, and without clients communicating with me I am unable to correct and improve our services. I welcome anyone to stop by and check out the spa and see why we have a clientele list of 5,000 plus.

Health & Happiness,

Alison McLaughlin

What a letdown!

by beckyshere

I found this place online and was initially very impressed by the description, I was expecting a luxury visit in San Antonio. LOL. That's what I get for guessing in the dark, the place was far from relaxing at all! First off, it's small and kinda hard to find, not to mention there is LOUD construction on the road outside. After finally arriving through traffic and whatnot I get there to reliaze it's a tiny little house, looks like they converted an old house with interesting results? A mishmash of knickknacks and retail stuff is crammed in there, and the staff was a little pushy about trying to sell me products... I received a massage and a facial, and they were definitly subparr to be nice. No pressure during the massage, though I asked for more, and it felt like my facial was rushed and things were just slopped on my face. I have to admit I was disappointed.. It SOUNDED so good! Will not be stopping back there unfortunatly..

  • Pros: The table was comfy and the products smelt nice
  • Cons: The location, (close to downtown?!?!), the service, the staff

Best Prenatal Massage

by littleyao

I just had the best prenatal massage with Natasha. The location is a cute little house. It's very clean and roomy. I used the special "preggy pillow," which allowed me to lay face down. The pillow was comfortable and made it easier for Natasha to use very deep pressure on my neck, shoulders, and back. Natasha really worked out my kinks. I will definitely be going back to see her again.

The only con was that I waited 20 minutes from the time I walked in and filled out paper work until Natasha came out to get me. The people up front had failed to notify Natasha that I had arrived. But it was a minor inconvenience and will not stop me from getting a great massage. I would go to Natasha whether or not I was pregnant because she does a wonderful job and gives an excellent deep pressure massage!

  • Pros: Wonderful massage, parking
  • Cons: Located on a road with lots of construction

Prenatal Massage

by oneyear

I got a gift certificate for a prenatal massage. I was worried how it would be since I have a big belly now. They use this great pillow topper that is shaped around your belly to support you. I wanted one for my house! I was seen right away and they asked about my preferences. It was very relaxing. My only complaint is that I asked the massage lady to use more pressure and she said she was not able to because the pillow topper made me so much higher up that it was hard to get more pressure. I would love to go back.

  • Pros: comfortable for pregnant ladies, relaxing
  • Cons: not enough pressure

Best Spa In Town

by kimlovessummer

That lady must be CRAZY!!! ART Massage Body Spa was so relaxing and I personally got massaged by the owner. I had one of the best massages ever! I showed up early and was taking back right away, the room was so cute, and all the employees were very friendly. I got the full hour plus the time I was taken in early. It was hard to walk back out in to the real world. Overall, it was a extremely pleasant experience!

Mediocre Massage

by SamanthaKent

Being new to San Antonio and a member with City Search, I checked out the best of the best that SA had to offer. Coming in at a 9.1 rating, I thought I'd be getting top notch service.

WHAT A COMPLETE LET DOWN!

Pros:

Friendly Staff

Charming Atmosphere

Uber comfortable massage table

Cons:

**Lengthy Wait - (prior to seeing therapist & again after I disrobed)

**Mediocre Massage - very canned - there was no natural flow or rhythm

**40 minute massage when I specified a full hour (the receptionist adjusted the fee)

**I could hear the other therapist & Owner(?) having lunch

The place was nice and comfortable, but I definitely will not recommend this place nor will I ever return.

Kind Regards,

Samantha

  • Pros: Ambience
  • Cons: Tardiness
