I've been visiting this spot for a long time now, great atmosphere & the beer is excellent. The food is pretty good too, but its the brew that keeps me going back.
Pros: Great Beer, location & atmosphere.
Cons: I wish happy hour was all day! LOL

I am really surprised to read such good reviews on this restaurant. We went to Blue Star Brewing company on a Friday night, thinking it would be really fun...being that it's a brewery and a Friday night. That was not the case...we felt as if we were at some family restaurant. The food was less than mediocre (don't get the smoked salmon pizza...no matter how much you like smoked salmon.). The inside of the restaurant itself was pretty cool, however. In addition, the waitress was great. It's disappointing because the place has potential, if only the food was better.

During a recent dinner at the Blue Star I, along with at least four others ,was burned by steam released from the pipes. I was burned from my head down my back. We were treated with indifference by the staff when we informed them what had happened. Followup phone calls also generated rudeness, and a "don't bother us" attitude. They refuse to disclose their insurance agent/company. We were lucky that a three year old sitting at the table was out of the line of fire.
Pros: none
Cons: Staff had an indifferent attitude.

So, I have been here a few times and I am not totally crazy about anything in particular. The beer is average (brewed there) and the crowd can be a little funky but overall it's different and a cool place to experience if you have never been.

Blue Star has one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life...and I've eaten a lot of burgers.

In a large warehouse like setting the Blue Star serves excellent food - try the onion rings they are made with "real" beer batter and melt in your mouth. The pizza is also very good. The staff were friendly and helpful telling us about where to go in San Antonio. Great value for the money.

Juicy, well grilled, fresh veggies, delicious fries. And if you come during non-working hours and enjoy a freshly brewed beer: THIS IS THE PLACE. (Forget what the sensationalist masses say, and come where the burger conoisseurs are.)
Pros: flavor, quality, freshness
Cons: little slow, at end spent signif, too loud @ night
