In today's economic atmosphere, you really can't beat LRB. I enjoy walking in and upon seating have my salad right away. The range of the menu speaks volumes, all with modest prices. I am stuck on the Fried Pork Chop, best deal in town. Thank you staff at LRB, keep it up. I highly recommend, best value for the dollar.

  • Pros: Great Service & Great Prices

Just didn't like it. I have eaten hear many years ago and seemed quaint at the time. It has lost its luster as far as I am concerned. I won't eat there again unless I am forced to go, like this last time for a company party.

Not good.

  • Pros: none
  • Cons: decor, price, food quality

I have enjoyed Little Red Barn for many years. I will agree that the food is not the quality it once was, but it is still a very good steak at an excellent price. Several things have changed over the years, the head cook "Mingo" has passed, but his son Bobby still makes a delicious steak. Mr. Hernandez has turned the running of the business over to the children and they are making progress, but again it is change. All in all it is a good steak at a great price. I bring family and friends here several times a year and we have yet to have a bad experience. The southside is proud to have a long standing business that still stirs things up during rodeo week!

  • Pros: Lots of Parking, fast seating, salad, and bread - can do it on the lunch hour.
  • Cons: Tea is not the best tasting

I've gone to the Little Red Barn for a little over 10 years. The place used to be quintessential Texas/San An. Nothing fancy, but solid grub. However, the quality of both the food and the service are slipping fast. Perhaps it frustrates the staff that the food is deteriorating and all they can do is not care about the situation since they have little control over it.

I've had most the steaks on the menu, including the chicken fried steak the last time I went. They must have fried it in the same fryer that they use for fish. It was horrible, it may have been the first piece of beef with gills. (Sweet jeebus, I hope they serve fish or the mystery that was my chicken fried steak grows epicly worse). When I brought it up to the waitstaff, she seemed genuinely disinterested and no offer was ever made to correct the "beeffishstick" I received.

This former San An icon of a friendly neighborhood steakhouse is circling the drain.

  • Pros: If you like red and barns this place rocks, if you don't ...
  • Cons: Food quality has plummeted and service is right behind.

The Little Red Barn is a great place to get delicious steak and prompt service at a reasonable price. My family has been several times now, and we have been surprisingly satisfied at the end of each meal. Our waitresses have been attentive to our needs, refills on drinks, and asked if our steaks were cooked to our liking. Each time our steaks have come out juicy and flavorful. We highly recommend this restaurant, especially on your birthday!

My family and I have been going there for the past two decades. The service and food have become quite a disappointment over the years. It is not the same place that it once was. Management needs to make some major changes or else my family and I will not be returning there anymore. We honestly prefer going to Texas Roadhouse instead and rarely go to the Little Red Barn anymore.

  • Pros: Nice atmosphere
  • Cons: Poor quality food and poor service. Not what it used to be.

This is one of the best places to enjoy a Texas size steak, even chicken fried, with wonderful service & and a great western atmosphere. I have been eating here for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. Great place to bring your out-of-town visitors.

I'VE BEEN GOING TO LITTLE RED BARN FOR OVER 20 YEARS. I USED TO THINK IT WAS THE BEST PLACE FOR STEAKS. I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW MUCH THE QUALITY HAS GONE DOWN. I KNOW THE OWNERS PERSONALLY AND I'M VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE QUALITY OF THEIR RESTAURANT. I'VE BEEN READING THE REVIEWS AND IT SEEMS THAT EVERYONE COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME THING. HOW POOR THE RESTAURANT HAS BECOME AND THE POOR QUALITY OF THEIR STEAKS.. I DON'T GO TO OFTEN, BUT WHEN I DO, I KEEP HOPING THE STEAK WILL BE BETTER THIS TIME, BUT SADLY I AM DISSAPOINTED. I'M WONDERING IF NANCY OR MARISA, OR THEIR PARENTS READ THIS REVIEWS, BECAUSE THEY DON'T SEEM TO IMPROVE ON THE STEAKS. SAD TO SAY THERE ARE MORE BAD REVIEWS THEN GOOD. OH ,AND THE PRICE FOR THE EXTRA CONDIMENTS IS RIDICULOUS!

  • Pros: NOT EXPENSIVE
  • Cons: TOUGH STEAKS, CONDIMENTS EXPENSIVE. NO WAY TO REST YOUR BACK, ICE TEA ALWAYS WATERED DOWN.
