Mix Night Club

I love the Mix! It has outlasted many of the other bars on st. mary's. They must be doing something right. Live music every night of the week. Never a cover! Service is always great. I've had to wait a while for a drink before, but it was when the bar was very busy. great place to have a beer, chill with friends and listen to some tunes.

Pros: everything is great.

Cons: don't trust the back parking lot. bar is a little dirty inside.

Do you remember when those black framed glasses were cool? Long for those days of yore? Well, put on your Allstars and come on out! Our rude doorman will welcome you with a scowl. Get some Dr. Scholl's in those Chuck Taylors 'cause you'll be standing all night. Looking for a place to meet hip young people? Well..... o.k., hipsters with issues. Then this is your place. To say this bar is original is like claiming the K.F.C. on your block is the only place to get chicken. I will say the 2 female bartenders were great,fast and cuter than the vast majority of patrons. I cannot rate the quality of music since I haven't seen ALL the bands that play @ Mix. I will say, of the bands I've seen..... Wow! I did not know people still listen to that.

Pros: You can get a drink

Let me say this...the Mix has been there for many years giving my friends and I a chill place to hang and just be ourselfs. San Antonio is becoming cookie cutter haven yet the one place I know I can just be me and listen to some good music is THE MIX! After a night of concerts or hittin the clubs it's the perfect place to come and relax for the remainder of your evening. To those who hate on it...well sorry maybe it is a regular's kind of place. So find some where else to go!!

It's a neat place, if you're into looking just like every other frigging person in the joint. And the waitstaff and bouncers are pr!cks, unless, of course, you like kissing @ss. Then they're your best friends. I was at the bar waiting to get my FIFTH beer after THREE hours and the waitstaff completely ignored me. I was and am more coherent than the majority of the people in there, and did nothing to warrant them not serving me. But, alas, I walked away empty handed. And a good friend of mine, who is an enormous friend of the band and frequent patron, got kicked out for doing nothing more than headbanging and holding up a pitcher. I'm sorry, but when the waitstaff and bouncers start playing favorites and acting like babysitters rather than people providing a service, something has gone wrong. There's a big difference between people having a good time and people getting a little too roudy. Apparently, The Mix would prefer neither happen in their establishment. If you want to fall in line and look cute like all the rest of the dipshits holding their devil horns in the air, then yes, this is your place. But I'm afraid I've spent my last minute and last dollar in The Mix.

Don't even bother trying to call to figure out minimum age limit! My friend and myself called three times and had the person at the club hang up each time. All we wanted to know is if she could get in seeing as she is 18. Very rude service! I don't recomend it.

Cons: Called to find out min age limitation... and they hung up three times.

The Mix is an awesome bar to be on St. Mary's strip. It's the happening spot for a lot of after club regulars. The have great pitcher specials and pretty good pricing on specialty drinks. The atmosphere is pretty smokey, but is fun to relax in most areas of the bar. The Mix is definately a place you go with a group of friends who want to talk and hang out. It's not the dancing type bar, and space is limited.

Pros: Great St. Mary's Strip bar

Cons: crowded, smokey
