I would definitely reccomend this place to anyone. I went to JD & Victor's Salon which I would not advise anyone to go to EVER - I don't care how desperate you are. JD cut my hair or should I say "butchered" my hair - that seems more appropriate. I ended up at this salon and they fixed my hair which was not an easy task. I ended up having to basically pick a hair style of a very, very short nature because of JD the Butcher. They not only fixed my hair but stayed late on a Saturday to do so. I loved the outcome - I started a new job today and was able to come to work with a nice hair cut; although, I don't feel this is my style - it is a great cut. I plan on continuing with this salon. I would definitely recommend it.

After reading the reviews, I was willing to give the salon a try. I only use Aveda products on my hair and so when I found this salon near my house I was thrilled. However, I was not pleased with my experience. First the person doing my hair made me feel like I didnt belong in the salon. Secondly, he made me feel horrible about my hair, he was telling me that he is not responsible for the end results because I had my hair cut somewhere else..what does that matter ( I was getting roots done)? He sped through the whole coloring process and in the end my hair came out TWO colors! You could see where my roots where not properly dyed. I even asked him if he thought he did a good job and he said he could have left my color on for longer. Instead of discounting the price because of his horrible job, he made me pay full price!! It was a waste of money! I would not recommend this place.

Pros: I got my hair washed?

All women have an idea of what, they think, is the best hair color for them. The stylist at Bangz will amuze you and then comfort and guide you into reality. We can't all be blondes and if you want to be a brunette, you can not say you don't want red in your hair. Brown and red go hand in hand. Same color scheme. I found that out after saying that remark. They assured me I would like my color, and after the hair wash, I saw brown, NOT red! This was the best treatment I received from an aveda salon and at a reasonable price. Eleazar, Ryan, and Brandy are an excellent team.

Pros: Stylist and Ambience

Cons: None, experience it once!

No, this salon doesn't have the cucumber slices for your eyes while your conditioner is soaking in, nor do they offer hand massages while waiting for that color to process. But what they do have that all the other Aveda salons do not is exceptionally talented hair colorists and stylists with a relaxed atmosphere that doesn't make you feel as if you are "just another number". I really almost don't want to write this review for fear of the word getting out about the best kept secret in Aveda salons - but I know there are other professional women out there that are tired of going to the over- priced Aveda salons that are hiding their bad customer service skills with marketing hype such as cucumbers, biscotti wafers, and lemon water. Bangz was a completely refreshing experiencing and the staff there were friendly and engaging - not cold and distant. I have to give credit to the owner, Eleazor for this, as he has created an efficient, yet relaxed and tranquil atmosphere. This is the best color and cut I have had in years! My stylist was able to correct mistakes that were made by a "Master-Level" stylist at another Aveda salon. My experience with other Aveda salons in the past has been a cold, sterile, hurried, cattle call feel which really made me not want to go back. This really created a dilemma for me because I love Aveda hair and skin product and use them daily. I am really glad I researched it a little more and went to one more Aveda salon. I suggest you try Bangz too! Oh, and more thing.....even though this wouldn't affect why I go back because they are so worth it. They are actually less expensive than the other Aveda salons. Now, if that doesn't get you interested, I don't know what will!

Ryan Guerra is an awesome colorist! I have used several other upscale San Antonio salons for hair color and walked out with my hair badly damaged. Ryan really took his time to understand what I wanted and how my hair is affected by the use of certain products. My outcome was magnificant and I hope this comment helps others to be as delighted as I am.
