Constant customer - now total shock

I'm sorry.... I used to love this place... until the day of veterans day where I wanted to celebrate there out of all places. I couldn't dance with my partner without the bouncers taking our FULL drinks and tossing them in the trash, it happened 3 times that night, and when my back was turned, an individual was looking at the bouncers moving in on my beer and tossed it away. When I addressed politely to a bouncer instead of the manager to keep it low key, he smerked at me as if I was crazy and stated it was new bouncers... another mishap was when my bf wanted to request one song as an anniversary present, the dj turned him away, my bf asked again if he can play this song, the dj said looking at his equipment "I don't know"...If I shall ever return, the manager will be notified.
The kind of place a real cowboy would feel at home

I'm a new resident of San Antonio and I not only moved here for the great weather and people, but to dance and hang out with folks like me - love country music, rodeoing and dancing. Well, it only took one visit to Cowboys Dancehall to make me realize this place has it all. The music was great, rodeoing amazing and Cowboys made me feel right at home. Not only did I meet new friends, but I was a non-smoker in a smoker's bar, but wasn't affected by the smoke at all. The building is remarkable. If you're thinking of hitting the town for a night of fun, there's really only one place to go: Cowboys Dancehall.
- Pros: parking, size of building, rodeo, fun, dancing, meet new friends, music
- Cons: none
FUN!

- Pros: Hot Cowboys
- Cons: TOO DARK
Amazing Touristy Place..
by tanvi414 at Citysearch
As a tourist, I loved this place.. It has an indoor rodeo and a huge dance floor. They have Rodeos there every friday night.. On the day that I was there, Tracy Phillips, (apparently a huge San Antonio favorite) was performing..
Couple things I'd like to complain about are that its very hard to get to .. You can see it from the highway, but, can't quite figure out how to get there.. Fortunately, we had their phone number, so, we called and got directions from a person..
The second thing I'd like to complain about is that there is no food available.. I understand that its a bar, but, it would be nice to have "bar food"..
And, like all texas places, smoking is allowed inside..
Will I go there again? Absolutely!
- Pros: Lots of fun, Indoor Rodeo, Huge Dance Floor
- Cons: No Food, Smoking Allowed

Sounds like the previous comment was left by a MINOR!!! Once they have reached the legal drinking age, they will appreciate a great place like Cowboys Dancehall !! It is not only a great place for both singles but also for couples!!! What a great place to relax with friends and/or your spouse & just have a really great time!!! Great variety of music!! Prices???... Average... just as any person of legal drinking age would expect to pay!!! SEE YOU AT COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o)

Cowboys Dance Hall is awful. The drinks are extremely overpriced; even a small cup of coke! is $2. If you're a "minor" (18-20), you will be required to wear a wristband and have a large, embarrassing 'M' marked on both of your hands. Sound like a concentration camp?
The overall theme of the place is much like Disneyland: there are rides and games all around. Of course, they try to squeeze as much money out of your pockets as they can at each of these attractions. How about a "fun, free" game of Texas Hold'em where you have to dish out $10-20 just for the privilege of playing at their almighty table? You may as well throw your money into one of their pristine toilets.
Let's not forget the "stormtroopers" in their white and black uniforms with their ear pieces and a radio clipped to their belt. "Quick, someone is cheating at our hoax poker table! Seize him!!!"
Avoid this place unless you like being robbed.
- Pros: Music
- Cons: Prices, Atmosphere, Management
Best dance floor around, whether you are learning or you're practicing what you know, plenty of room for all.

My husband and I love coming to COWBOYS. The service is great, the music is the best and the atmosphere makes you want to stay all night. We've been dancing for years, not pros, but not too shabby and the dance floor is awesome for us. We drive from Blanco, Tx. to dance here and it's worth it. We are in our 40's-50's and dancing keeps us young. We've been searching for a couple or couples to get together with there, it's much more fun with friends. Most of our friends don't dance, so we're usually alone and haven't ever met anyone that we were compatible with. If you think you might be interested in getting together and meet at Cowboys, let us know through this site and we can exchange info on each other. We prefer a couple not a single person. We're just looking to meet people who love to dance around our age. Write us and we'll keep checking back...........Keep on dancin', Mr. and Mrs. Dirt
- Pros: All good!
- Cons: none
A little better than your average

Cowboys has a fun atmosphere. The live bull riding is very unique. It's usually pretty crowded and the prink prices are high. The music is good and there is always the mechanical bull to watch!
- Pros: Rodeo, Music
- Cons: Crowds, Prices

Overall, I like the place. The staff was extremely nice and I love the bull riding on saturdays. I saw Corry Morrow here and he put on a hell of a show. The sound was a bit off though. The dj plays great music and this place overall is like an upscale country and western experience. Thanks for showing me a good time!

Can you say.....WOW! I just moved to sa and have been going to far west every weekend since. The music is great and the women are hot. This place is the place to be. No doubt about it! I love the rodeo on saturdays and the drink specials are the best on thursdays. I have met so many people at far west since I have been going. Hats off to the management. Everyone is just so dang friendly!
