Careful doctor, friendly staff
by Dunkles
I had read the reviews about slow service before going to this Vision Source, so I asked the staff to help me schedule my appointments away from busy times. They have done this willingly, and I've never had to wait more than five minutes to be seen. I have had my choice of appointment times, too, often the next day.
I've always had a problem with nearsightedness, but now my "reading" vision is going (farsightedness). The first set of contacts Dr. Palys prescribed just didn't work for me. If I concentrated, I could read with them, but my vision seemed blurry off and on, as if I were underwater. I thought that's just what I had to deal with now that I'm older, and Dr. Palys could have pointed out that my eye tests with them were 20/20 and convinced me to keep them. Or she could have talked me into more expensive bifocal contacts. Instead, she worked with me for over an hour (on a *free* follow-up visit!), checking the fit and prescription with various machines. She decided that my new contacts were flexing a little, messing up my view each time I blinked, and we also sacrificed a tiny bit of clarity on far distant vision in order to bring the reading vision in clearly.
My new contacts are *perfect*! All for the same cost as the old contacts, an even swap, with no charge for all that extra time and all those extra machines and printouts. Dr. Palys listens to her patients, and that makes me a loyal and very happy customer.
- Pros: Careful eye doctor who listens to her patients
- Cons: May need to ask the staff to schedule you away from busy times
slow service, rude counter people

If you like to wait and wait this place is for you, they overbook appointments and have you sitting around for hours and I mean hours. This has happened to me on several occasions thinking its was just bad timing on my side but it has happend more than three times to myself. I have talked to others sitting in the waiting area to find out that it has happened to them also. This will be the last time that I will be seeing them. Also the front desk not real good at relaying information accuratly miss quoted dates.
The only good thing I can say is the building is nice. Throw away the slow service and bad attitudes and they might have a good service.
- Pros: Nice building
- Cons: Rude employies and extremly slow service

I have always had difficulty in wearing contact lenses until I visited the Vision Source of Dr. Agnes Palys. Her state of the art facility and friendly staff made my visit very pleasant. She has the latest in equipment and the Optomap showed I had unknown artifact that no other doctor in 30 years had ever mentioned to me. I needed toric contact lenses and she fit me with hydrogen hydrogel lenses that are comfortable and give me great vision. She even has a Travel Agency on premises and he husband booked me a Princess cruise out of Galveston. This place is fantastic!!!
- Pros: New facility, latest optical equipment, they take most insurances, Travel Agency on premises for a cruise or vacation.
- Cons: Walkins discouraged so call several days in advance to see any of the two doctors
