salon david
by greatape at Citysearch
I recently went to this salon to get a haircut with Adi. I loved him!!! I finally felt like the stylist was listening to my needs. He was so relaxed and friendly and Wow! what a shampoo !!! He masseged my whole head and neck while he shampood me. I would go back just for that! I always feel like people never style my hair the way i like it, but not Adi. He styled my hair better than what I could. I looked like a women in a magazine!
I would recommend him to anyone who needs to find a new stylist.
- Pros: Nice location
- Cons: No cell phone rule I found this annoying
Service and Attention to Detail
by BuyerTBP at Citysearch
My first visit to Salon David was to say the least a royal vacation. Once I walked in the door I received so much sincere attention it was ridiculous. I went in for a massage and a hair style. I was offered wine and cheese and escorted to a private room for my massage that was sensational, (my body didn't want to leave the place). After a totally relaxing massage I was brought to my hair stylist, (very kind, interested in what I wanted and offered helpful design info), who briefly consulted me on what I was looking for in hair design and then was whisked away to have my hair washed and let me tell you I didn't know I was in for another massage - this time on my large head - felt great! Back to the hairstylist station and then within a few short minutes I was shown in the mirror what I had envisioned my hair to be like. If you are looking for a total experience like none other I would highly recommend this place. They got my business from now on and also my family and co-workers.
- Pros: So many services and they treat you like royalty
- Cons: Wish could go everyday
I love this place

I like this place because, I have never been to a place that really takes care of your needs. My stylist took the time to understand what was looking for and fixed my hair just the way i was looking for it!!
- Pros: Friendly stylist
- Cons: NONE

I got a gift certificate for Salon David from my sister for Christmas; she is always there and said I should try something different. I got a cut and some color, I was really impressed. Every body was very nice and the place was so quite, I?m used to having kids running everywhere, rude stylists that seem not to listen to what you tell them, it was a great experience. They have a new regular customer. I even met the owner and he seemed like a great guy, thanks.

FIVE *****'s to Salon David and staff! Top quality service. From the moment that you walk into the building you are greeting with the friendliest staff. Loressa is on my top list for hair color, I will NEVER go to any other colorist again :)..I loved her service*. It has never looked this great before! I am extremely happy with my new look..The salon has a very relaxed and professional atmosphere. You don?t see people chatting on their cell phones or have a room full of crying babies (THAT IS THE WORSE!!!).I have to disagree with queenB138,..Salons & spas are to RELAX and to want the opposite is ridiculous. If you want to be entertained or have loud noise around you. Go to a CIRCUS!! . it?s the perfect place to relax and at the same time receive outstanding service.
Thank you Salon David!!!
- Pros: OVERALL great services..especially haircuts and haircolor :)
- Cons: none
Overpriced, Snobby Stylists, Poor Customer Service
by SuzyQJ at Citysearch
The stylists all have major attitude - as if they are doing you a favor by gracing you with their "knowledge". If you want an overpriced crappy haircut then this is the place for you - oh, and don't forget to buy one of their overpriced products (that you can now buy at HEB or Target)!
I live in a neighboring town with a 30 minute drive to this salon - so you can imagine my dissappointment and irritation when I was told that my appointment was not this Saturday but NEXT Saturday, which when I called I specifically requested a date not a day - they did not offer to fix their error - I will never ever return to this salon. Which is very sad, considering that I was a customer since 1999 when they were at their old location off IH 10 and Huebner.
Most of the stylists are completely snobby and will constantly harass you to get highlights or color - or a short haircut - all of which just means more money for them since you'll have to keep going back every 4 to 6 weeks or so. And they love to use razors to cut your hair - which I have since been told that that is one of the worst methods of hair cutting - especially for my slightly curly/wavy hair because it actually causes more frizziness and damages the ends of your hair.
Julian is one of the worst - he actually told me one time that he thinks he is a vampire!!! I guess that explains everything huh?!
- Pros: pedicures and massages are nice
- Cons: snobbiness, attitude, terrible customer service, possible vampires?
NOW I WEAR A WIG!
by WiseGal22 at Citysearch
Oh how I wish I had read these reviews before I went to Salon David! I had the same thing done to my hair........lots of uneven spikey things that I can't do anything with! I went to another salon to see if they could fix it, but they said there were so many uneven ends my hair would have to be cut very very short (like a man's!) in order to even things out. Even my husband (who usually doesn't notice much) took one look at me and asked what happened! It will be many months before I will be comfortable being seen in public with this hair, so my only alternative was to get a wig. I hate wearing it (especially in this hot weather) but its better than looking like a lawn mower ran over me. And to think I had to pay $82 to be butchered! I know I should have argued with them about paying but I was so upset all I could do was pay and leave before I started crying.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Hair so bad I have to wear a wig
Worst haircut ever
by JudyMc at Citysearch
I went to Salon David on the recommendation of a very good friend, who gets very good haircuts there. However, her hair is straight and mine is extremely curly. I was assured by David himself that he knew how to cut curly hair. NOT.
I specifically asked him not to use a razor. Instead he did that thing stylists do with sissors that simulates a razor (I did not know at the time it was happening). Anyone with curly hair can tell you what a razor cut (or simulated razor cut) does. I now have:
1. A head full of nothing but FRIZZ
2. Hair MUCH shorter than requested
3. A very bad haircut/style
and it's too short to pull back or do anything with except wait 6 months for it to grow out.
If he was not experienced with my type of hair, he should have informed me and given me the option to cancel rather than be experimented on.
It pays to listen--and this salon should go broke

I chose Salon David based on their nicely done website, and I expected that for the price, I would have a well-trained hairdresser who could maintain his or her focus on me and ensure I got what I wanted. I brought pictures of styles I liked, which clearly showed long, blended layers not far from what I had upon arrival. To make sure I got what I wanted, I brought three pictures of what I did NOT want: choppy, short layers with long hair underneath. I even took the precaution of writing ?NO? with a black sharpie on them.
As I told the hairdresser Julian when he asked how I liked it, he cut my hair exactly how I didn?t want it, and I had the pictures to prove that?s what he did. He made my whole experience at Salon David angry and stressful. I look like a candidate for Rock of Love!
To add insult to injury, he made snide comments the whole time, saying, ?Your hair is green,? ?your natural color is mousy blonde,? and kept saying ?I can?t hear you/understand you? whenever I said something to him. He didn?t even trouble himself to offer me a glass of water. Alas, Julian was too busy making assumptions and coming up with ways to hurt the feelings of his client to oh, say ASK.
When I confronted him, I said and showed him that these were not long layers he cut (6 inches is short by any standard). And he was ready to charge me $52 for ruining hair I loved and only wanted trimmed and shaped. Now I have a year of growing out these cheap-looking layers.
The owner David was nice, apologized and said he didn?t know what he could do. He had no choice but to admit Julian didn?t follow the pictures I brought. David didn?t charge me, and I cancelled another $100 in services and products instead of give them another chance.
I can?t in good conscience recommend this salon since there is no way to ensure a client will get what she wants rather than what the stylist wants to give. Bringing ?yes? and ?no? pictures didn?t help Julian figure it out.
- Pros: I got a free haircut
- Cons: It looks like a free haircut
MISUNDERSTOOD!!!!!!!!
by adi at Citysearch
Gina,
I recently ran across your acessment of my haircut with you. I am sorry that you had a bad experience with my style of cutting. If you would have come back to me, I would have changed my style of cutting with you and made it to your liking. What a lot of people don't understand is that when a stylist cuts with a razor, It's not supposed to be an accurate cut. some pieces are longer that others, and some shorter. It's not supposed to be even. I believe that what you are used to seeing in the mirror are even layering. The razor is not for everyone, but it does have it's place. I am sorry we miss communicated with each other on the style of haircut you wanted and I hope you find some one who can cut your hair to your pleasing.
sincerely, Adi

I recently had my hair done at Salon David by Adi. I can honestly say it is the worst haircut I have ever had in my life. He actually never used scissors, he used a razor for the entired cut. My hair is all croked and uneven. I would never go back there again.
- Pros: Love my guest and people I work with!!!
- Cons: No cons.
