User Reviews for Affordable Pet Care

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

The people there were very friendly! The tech and the vet were both very nice to myself and my cats and the receptionists were all very sweet. The price was affordable, as their name states. If I need vet services again, I will definitely go to them.

Pros: Short wait time

Cons: None

I spilled chicken noodle soup on my table and cleaned it up with a towel. When I came back from the movies I discovered my dog had eaten the towel. No big deal, until 2 days later with it was stuck coming out the dog (his name is Snackers). Snackers was scooting all over the rug trying to get it out and it was making brown smears all over the rug. The people here got it out, but they couldn't help me get the stains out of my rug.

Pros: They can get towels out of dogs.

Cons: They won't clean your rug.

If you are an animal lover or your cat needs a shot, these are the people to go to. They are friendly and reliable, quick and thorough. I enjoy going to the vet everytime I take my dog there. They even help me out when he (a 110 lb Weimeraner) is out of control. Overall, a great experience everytime, I got lucky that I called them first.

In reading a few of the other reviews, I was quite suprised... I've been taking my dog there for almost 3 years, and she loves them there! They know her by name and give her hugs and kisses all the time! Some of the receptionists (others claim are so rude) take my dog behind the counter while I check out and give her more love and kisses. Another one even helps me to my car by taking her for me so I can unlock my doors and put her in her seat belt. The techs are so sweet to her, and the vet well my dog loves him so much she can't keep still. A trip to the vet for my dog is a treat for her and for myself. The prices are great, and if my baby is happy so am I. :)

Pros: excellent staff, great prices

Cons: location upon entering kind of dangerous...

When I took all four of my cats in to be neutured, I was expecting a whopping bill as all of them had to have shots and then be neutured. I was very, very happy with the end price. They gave me a "group" deal on them as they were all brothers and all born on the same day. I have always recommended Affordable Pet Care to everyone and have never had "rude" treatment by the receptionist or by any of the technicians. Maybe the other people just came on bad days or they were supersensitive, but I have not found this to be true of anybody there. Keep up the good work and keep the prices low. Thanks so much.

Pros: Low price, great care

Cons: A little hard to get to - Bandera traffic is horrible and so is Basse

I will admit, the prices are better than your average pet care center. The ladies at the front desk are polite, and the one older lady is wonderful to our dogs, she actually cares about them and comes around the counter and out to the waiting room to pet them. I cannot say NEARLY the same for the technicians. One girl didn't even take my dog's temperature, and just guessed so she didn't have to do it. They needed to draw the fluid from their veins (this site censors the word) for a heart worm test so they could continue to give our dogs medication. It is ridiculous, they have never been off of heart worm medication...they aren't going to have any! But they were convinced, and we had to pay an extra $37 per dog for these tests. The technicians were very rough with my dogs. I warned them various times to be gentle and move slowly around the more shy of the two dogs. She acted like she didn't hear me, and made rough movements, wasn't gentle at all, and was obviously inexperienced with needles. Dogs aren't stupid. They can sense fear and inexperience, and it made my dogs even more fearful to know she couldn't be trusted. After a complaint to the front desk, the head veterinarian had to do the samples because by now the dogs were very upset, and I was even more so. Basically, the technicians are inexperienced, lazy people who don't have the slightest bit of care for the animals they are supposed to be helping. Next time, I'm going directly to the person in charge so I don't have to deal with those people again. Up until now, the dogs loved going to the vet.

Pros: Cheaper perscriptions than regular vets, parking,

Cons: Horrible technicians, unnecessary charges that you have to pay in order to get what you need.

I had taken my pets to APC for almost 20 yrs & had respect & trust for their services.I had over looked their receptionist's negitive attitude, to being overwhemled with work. This past March 06 I took my pet in & when I asked for my bill, I was quoted three different prices by three different receptionists.I was handed an invoice with a previous & current balance ?? This was wrong & asked to speak to manager, Gerri Combs. I was given a new bill, which I paid and left feeling disappointed, & distrustful of APC. Higher management requires to invest time in updating & briefing their (upfront office) employees in common courtesy, accounting & overall professionalism. I have, since acquired a new vet's services.

Pros: vet's services ( professional work )

Cons: "some" up front offices employees require to act in a civilized manner.

Well im sorry to say but the reception area is sometimes hard to deal with. The first time I called the receptionist, didnt get her name, she was quite rude. However, once I got there the techs and our vet were extremely helpful. I compared their prices to all of the other vet clinics in town and they were truly the only ones with resonable prices. BELIEVE ME...I had to go to another clinic for an emergency and spent way too much money compared to the prices I could get there. I think, because of the fact that they are the only "affordable" care around they end up getting overwhelmed. If you are a patient person, and can get over the fact that sometimes people may be overwhelmed, then I reccomend them.

I will never go to this vet again. I'd been before and was treated rudely the receptionist Dottie. I just let it go. This time I went and was treated rudely by Linda Walker, a vet tech. I could not believe how ugly she was to my dog. I know people have bad days. However, this woman's behavior was horrible. Unreal - Ms. Walker - find another job. I heard you were helpful & could get me extra medicines as you have your friends. Well, you were rude!

Pros: Convience of location

Cons: Linda Walker was rude & Dottie was rude before.

The staff was friendly, understanding, helpful and very conmpassinate. We also saved quite a bit compared to other Veterinary Clinics we checked with. We are very happy and will make them our primary care for all our animals.
