Quality Service

by bud463 at Citysearch

I am new to the S.A. area. I didn't know any of the bike dealers in town. I took a chance on Cycle Logic which I found in the phone book.

I bought a good quality mountain bike from the advice of Allen, the co-owner of Cycle Logic. Was impressed by his knowledge and expertise.

I was so impressed with the performance and durability of the bike I purchased. Unfortunitely my bike was stolen a week after I bought it. Allen called me a few days later to tell me someone had found my bike. Allen was notified through the SN on the bike. Allen then called me to tell me that the bike was found, but destroyed. I did pick up the bike from the Kerrville PD.

Allen was very helpful with his suggestions to recoop some of the cost of my bike through my credit card protection coverage. I would have not known or thought about this without Allens help. Allen even went a step beyond as a salesman and a friend to help get another bike of that quality. I told him I could not afford to purchase another bike at the cost I paid. Allen got on the phone and called other companys to find another bike and talked to the companys owner about what happened to my previous bike. Allen did a great job in finding me a another bike and getting me a great discount on my new bike.

I highly recommend Allen at Cycle Logic, not because of his knowledge and expertise on mountain bikes, but he will go above and beyond to help you. Thank You Allen.

Alex

First and Last Place to Shop for Bikes!

by Qimomar4 at Citysearch

I was in the market to buy a new bicycle in order to shorten my commuting time, and I was convinced that I would not go to a bicycle shop to purchase one. My issue was that I was not sure what kind of a bike I would need to get. I went to the Cycle Logic shop because it was in front of my neighborhood, and I am really happy that I did.

My first visit, I spoke with Allan, an experienced bike rider and mechanic who has been in the biking business for over 17 years. He was excited to have me in his shop and answered all of my questions; he even told me about which bikes I should be looking into and introduced me to the biking community lingo. I checked out his selection, which is varied, and also listened to the deals that they had going on at the shop. You will not be able to find deals as great as you will in Cycle Logic.

After my initial visit, I did my own research and tried to find cheap bikes on Craig's List and at the department stores. For my riding needs, those bikes would not last me very long because I am a heavier person, and I want to ride on the trails in Texas. I also went to two other bike shops, but I was not helped or paid much attention to. Then, I looked into the bikes that they sold in Cycle Logic and researched the bike that would fit me and my needs the best. I found some good prices on them and then went to see Allan to talk to him about it. They had the bike I was looking for, but it was not assembled. Allan went to his warehouse, picked it up, and assembled it the next day. I came back to the shop to test it out, but it was too large for me, so I went for a bike that was more expensive but fit me rather well. Allan will not sell you a bike that will not fit you; he cares about his customers' safety.

After purchasing the bike, he gave me discounts on my helmet, gloves, and lock. They run a really great business that is truly centered on the customer, and I could not be happier with the service and dedication that Allan and his mother-in-law exhibit daily to every single one of their customers. You walk in the store, and automatically you are a friend.

I highly recommend this establishment to anyone that is in the market to buy any type of bike. Like I said before, it is the first and last place you will go to in order to buy a quality bike and get a great warranty and service plan!

  • Pros: Excellent customer service, years of experience
  • Cons: None

Best bike shop in SA town... or anywhere!

by cambeen at Citysearch

This was my first major bike purchase, so I was on a steep learning curve. But Allen was the perfect help for what I needed. He is not a "pushy salesman", nor does he have the attitude of "I know so much, which is way more than you!" No, not Allen. He was very pleasant, patient, and helpful with me from the first minute I walked in the door.

The first day I spent alot of time in his store, asking questions and trying to get educated. He understood this, and when I left he wasn't offended that I had taken up his time and not bought anything. Instead, he was happy to have been able to help me and was glad to meet a new bike enthusiast.

Our second encounter was only a phone conversation as I needed to get a few more details about a couple of the bikes he had for sale. He completely understood that any reasonable person would want to compare with other bikes on the market in San Antonio. I feel that Allen was different because he knows that his bikes and prices can compete with anybody; therefore, he's not afraid of healthy competition (By the way, Allen never did "bad-mouth" any other dealer. This was not true for a certain dealer located on hwy 281)

On my next visit to his store, I called ahead to make sure I could "test ride" some bikes. So, when I arrived, Allen had everything ready for the test rides.

I knew after a few rides (with patience and helpful advice once again from Allen) that this was the bike for me. Even after I committed to buy, Allen was the same helpful person... not pushy on accessories that I wanted to include, but patiently explaining all the options.

This was a great buying experience and now I'm ready to ride!

By the way, Allen even invited me to ride with him and his friends.... basically because I don't think he considered me just a person buying his product, but his new friend.

  • Pros: Owner's patience, and willingness to give time to help
  • Cons: Absolutely NOTHING!

This was by far the best bike shop Ive been to. They have a very good selection of bikes for mtb, bmx, and road alike- new and used. The staff was very helpful and did not try to talk down to their customers. They also love and show tons of appreciation for the military and gave a great discount. I'd definately check this shop out!!!!!!

  • Pros: great selection, knowledgeable and friendly staff

Wow!! Customer service is not a thing of the past;)

by erickandisabel at Citysearch

We have visited, from what we know, all the bike shops in San Antonio. We immediately liked the atmosphere at Cycle Logic. Not only do they know what they are doing but they are excited that you are into the sport!! They are not just trying to make a sale. They truly try to match you with the bike best suited for your riding style. We were treated like VIP before we had even made our first purchase. Sure you could buy from a big fancy shop but expect to be treated like a number & not a customer. As for us & our friends we will only shop at Cycle Logic (if they don't have what you need ask Allen & he will get for you)!!

Great Experience

by chuletita at Citysearch

My wife and I are novices in the road bike arena and have been interested in purchasing some entry level road bikes. We traversed San Antonio searching for road bikes. We ventured into Cycle Logic and Allen was extremely helpful and answered all our questions. What we liked about Allen was that he did not pressure us to sell us a bike. Also, he expressed genuine concern and a follow-up plan regarding our use and enjoyment of our new road bikes. He was extremely helpful and knowledgable about our purchase. It was a great experience.

  • Pros: Knowledge about the puchase. Ample parking. Friendly environment.
  • Cons: Minimal space in store.

Where Pro's of Pro's in cycling go to for shop supplies and bicycle needs...

by bderamu1 at Citysearch

When you are a pro cyclist, you want a shop that you can trust, and a shop mechanic that you can trust with your bike. This is the shop that I trust for all my cycling related needs. Allen is the Shop owner and of course the head mechanic. When I first got into cycling, Cycle Logic was the first shop I went to, and the last. From the first day I walked in, the staff there have been great, they have educated me in my buying decsions, and Allen has helped in giving me great advice in which parts to buy or upgrade on my bike. I have actually bought two bikes from cycle logic. One was a Caloi road alumin frame bike with Shimano RSX shifter and brake levers, the second is a Solis all carbon frame with Shimano 105. My caloi has now become my training bike, and as result of Allen's advice, I have been able to upgrade my bike to what I need as I train for several state and national championship races in Texas and California area. If you are a amatuer cyclist, or someone who is just looking to buy a bike to get around town, Cycle logic is the place to go. As the person in the previous post stated, they do help in your making the right buying decision. Most importantly, you are never pressured to buy a bike, unlike a few other bike shops I have been to in the San Antonio area. I definitely recommend this shop to anyone who is insterested in buying a bike.
