I had been looking for an engagement ring for 3 months. I have an account at Jared and almost had a ring picked out and ready to buy...but something wasn't sitting right. The salesman at Jared was extremely pushy, and it was obvious he was trying to make the sale. I wasn't completely satisfied with the small selection that they had. Then I went to Americus and was blown away. John spent almost an hour showing me just the settings in the style I was looking for, and it took that long because they have 5 times the selection of Jared. And the stones with the same clarity and cut and weight were right at, if not cheaper, than Jared. They had the stone put in the setting and sized the same day, and I was floored at the finished product. There isn't a "used car salesman" vibe at this place. Guys, if you have any doubts about a current ring you're looking at, or trying to nail down a particular setting, go talk to John Burgess. He can help you find what you need and you won't have that voice in the back of your head wondering if you're going to get ripped off.
Pros: Huge selection, no-pressure sales, comfortable atmosphere.
Cons: None.

We looked at every store in Austin for my engagement ring. We found exactly what we were looking for and paid way less that we thought we'd have to. My saleslady was nice, knowledgeable, and very patient. Don't waste your time going anywhere else.
Pros: low pressure, great selection, great prices
Cons: store a little hard to find

I know 6 guys, including myself, that bought their engagement ring here. They are very nice, low pressure. They make suggestions, not pitches. When you give them an idea of a budget they don't try to upsell you, they go through their inventory and find what can work for you.
