Not worth the price

I was so excited for my weekend at the Emily Morgan. I chose this hotel specifically for the room with the jacuzzi bathtub and view. I called after I made the reservation to make sure that I was going to get the room I requested and the woman confirmed it. When I got to my room, I was on the 3rd floor. I immidately went to the bathroom to check out the view from the tub and much to my diappointment, the glass was frosted over for obvious reasons. That night when I got into bed, there were holes in my bed sheets on one side though the bed was comfortable. The next morning when I went to take a shower, there was hair all over the tub. I was very disappointed. I would have rather had a cheaper, smaller room then a big dirty one. When I completed the review the hotel sent me after my stay, I let them know about my diappointments. The hotel manager called and left me a message and that was over a week ago. I have called and left messages for him to call me back but to no avail. If you arent satisfied with your stay, dont expect them to try and keep your business.
A lodging staple for budget-minded road-trippers and business travelers.

In Short
Since the Ramada brand made its debut in 1954 in Flagstaff, Ariz., the hotel franchise has been offering dependable accommodations with budget-wise perks. Families appreciate the kids-stay-free policy for children 17 and under staying with their parents. Other amenities usually include a swimming pool, full-service restaurant, lounge, in-room data ports and voice mail. Group rates--for wedding parties, corporate groups or family reunions--are available for parties requiring 10 or more rooms per night.

I've stayed at The Emily Morgan Hotel several times and have always been pleased with all the ammenities provided and the service I received. The rooms are HUGE and the location is perfect. You can walk to everything. I highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in San Antonio for business or pleasure!
A favorite haunt named after a local legend.

The Scene
Not many people have heard of Emily Morgan, but most know the song about her--"The Yellow Rose of Texas." This property draws attention to the local legend with its name and is one of the most popular hotels in the downtown area. It opened in 1926 and was the first documented skyscraper west of the Mississippi River. The Gothic Revival building underwent a $5 million interior renovation in 2001. It caters to every kind of visitor, from business travelers in town for meetings to couples taking romantic vacations to sightseeing families. It is a perfect introduction to San Antonio's rich history.
The Details
Some of the rooms offer bird's eye views into the courtyard of the neighboring Alamo. All accommodations offer plenty of personalized touches, such as CD players and gourmet coffee. A few of the standard rooms also have separate sitting areas and Jacuzzi tubs.

This hotel rocks!!!

My husband and I traveled to San Antonio to participate in the half marathon this past weekend and we were sooooo happy we stayed at the Emily Morgan. Their beds are incredibly comfortable! Also, the shower heads and water pressure are perfect after a hard workout. It is a superb location if you plan to spend time at the Alamo, the Riverwalk or even the Convention Center. The staff is very friendly and we were given great recommendations over and over again about where to eat in downtown San Antonio (in order to avoid tourist traps). Plus, they were wonderful to our two doggies. This hotel is beautiful, classy, and lacks any sort of snobby attitude that you might run in to at other upscale hotels. We'll definitely be back.
- Pros: Dog friendly, great location, best beds!!!
- Cons: Parking costs $18/day (but I'm not sure it's free at any San Antonio hotel)

The room was sooooo unbelievably small. I also had a horrible view of the parking lot and other side of the city. Also, I specifically wanted a hotel with a business center. When I arrived I needed to use it right away. I asked for the "business center", and they directed me to a desk in the middle of the lobby with a computer and printer. This was their business center. To make it worse was the monitor was facing the street. So please don't do anything confidential in their "business center". Ridiculous for the price!
Did not meet expectations

Wife and I celebrated our 1st year anniversary and stayed at the Emily Morgan.
We called a month ahead to reserve a room with a king bed, jacuzzi, and Alamo view. The woman on the phone kept trying to sell us a room with 2 full sized beds. When we arrived we were booked a room with 2 full sized beds. They apologized for the "mis-communication" and discounted us $50 per night. We felt cheated and ended up sleeping in a full sized bed (we have a queen at home) for our anniversary!! There were no bathrobes in the room, we called the front desk and were told there weren't any available!! The hotel has a cozy charm and is near the Rivercenter, riverwalk, and Alamo. For its location, and amenities, the Emily Morgan offers great value, but hit or miss service. Worth a try, but were not going back.
- Pros: Location, Value, Charm/Cozy
- Cons: Hit or miss service, Noise from Alamo tour
honeymoon

The Emily Morgan Hotel offers you the chance to email their staff. To my surprise, an assistant manager called for arrangements. We called 45 minutes prior to arrival and the plaza suite was prepared for us. They contracted an outside vendor for many of the accessories. The Jacuzzi was filled with water and bath salts. Rose petals floated on top of the water and several candles were lit around the tub. The windows could be opened from the Jacuzzi to see the Alamo and the rest of the breathtaking view. Chocolate covered strawberries and chilled champagne was waiting and dozens helium filled balloons. We were given valet parking and a carriage ride. The Oro restaurant was outstanding. Truly this was a honeymoon for the ages, one we will never forget. We plan to have many other romantic getaways at the Emily Morgan. I highly recommend it!
- Pros: staff, view, dining
- Cons: , none, none

We stayed at the Emily for the lighting of the Riverwalk and WOW! This is the hotel for you! We had room service every morning and it was delicous! Then we had drinks at the bar before heading out (an didn't spend a fortune!) and then hit the riverwalk which was right across the street! IT was perfect. Anyone who is anyone should try this out, it is definatley worth the stay.
- Pros: BAR, Room service, Close to everything
- Cons: None, none, none
