My husband and I have been going to Flemings regularly since we moved to Austin over 3 years ago. We love the food, which has always been outstanding and delicious, but the service is the real reason we frequently return. You have to ask for Taylor! Not only is he one of the best servers we have ever had, but he provides the most personalized service one can achieve. He knows everything we like and nails it every time. So next time you go to Flemings to enjoy one of those phenomenal filet's, make sure you pair it with Taylor for a perfect night out!

Not consistant, Bad Prime Rib, tough like a cheap cut of meat. Other times the food was good, Good service good bar.

Pros: Nice place

Cons: food not up to par

There are too many outstanding steakhouses in Austin to waste time and money on this one. The service was terribly slow - over an hour and a half to receive our food. The food was not cooked properly: Either overcooked or undercooked. Management not present nor willing to take responsibility for a lousy dining experience. I don't mind spending $50 a person on dinner but not for slow service, rude and arrogant servers and management, and poorly prepared food. Try Ruth Chris or 3 Forks instead for the same price!

Pros: Great homemade bread

Cons: SLOW SERVICE, Rude servers. No management presence. Food not cooked properly. Overpriced for a mediocre experience

I have lived in San Diego, New York and now am a frequent visitor of Austin. When I discovered there was a Fleming's I could not wait to try it here. It has been a favorite of mine for the past 7 years and I have to say it definitely lives up to its delictable food & amazing wine. Anytime visitors are in town I highly recommend this to everyone and have received excellent reviews everytime! Best restaurant ever!

I honestly feel that Flemings is hands down the best food, experience, and service for your money when you are in search of steak. The portions are large, the food is superb, and the service is extraordinary. Granted, we have experienced some waitors here who do not deserve such accolades, but as a whole the staff is extremely knoweledgeable and attentive. This is the best value for money when you are looking for an excellent steak.

Pros: Service, Food, Ambiance

Cons: None

You would expect for a restaurant that charges nearly $30 and up for every entree (not including any sides) to cater to your every need, without hesitation or at least attitude. Well thats not the case with Flemings. Extremely rude staff and mediocre food is all you will get if you dine here. I had the beef flemington and the puff pastry was burned, should have just gotten a steak. Anyway, avoid this place at all costs.

The service at Fleming's is exceptional. From the welcome to the exit, your every need is attended. The food here is just as good as the staff. You truly get what you pay for. The steaks are juicy and full of flavor; you really can't pick a wrong side, but I do recommend the mashed potatoes with truffle compound butter. The cheesecake dessert is meant to be split between two. Great location in downtown and close to all the night life. This is a wonderful way to start an evening in Austin.

Pros: food, service, location

Cons: none

I've eaten 5 or 6 meals at Flemings. Twice in Austin and a few times in Baltimore. Although I prefer to support local Austin businesses, I must say that Flemings consistently serves a memorable meal. I really prefer it to Sullivans for steaks. Sullivans steaks seem dry to me, whereas Flemings are served sizzling hot and juicy and perfectly prepared. Our most recent visit, I had the spinach salad which was so good that it could have been my main course. My husband had the wedge. We shared the delicious Flemings potatoes and key lime pie. Our server was attentive and knowledgable... Our wine was reasonably priced and delicious. It was packed at 9:30 on a Wed. and I can see why!

Pros: Great steaks, knowledgable waitstaff, Flemings potatoes

Cons: A little pricey (but worth it)

A dining out occasions with friends; which meant four couples to tend to, each with a dire need for cocktails and a hearty appetite. Well not to worry at Flemings! Our waiter was awesome; the bartenders were enthusiastic (speaking of which the White Cosmo is wonderful ladies.) and the food was fabulous! All I can say is we promised not to say the S word in comparisons and that was not a problem, we had a lovely and entertaining evening and left perfectly satisfied. BTW, what I failed to mention is we came from Harker Heights for this meal, and was it ever worth it!

The food is really the only reason to go here, the steak in particular. The past two times I had been to this place, we had the most professional waiters I have ever witnessed. They knew more about meat than you could shake a fist at; they were prompt, polite and respectful. Last night, however, I can't say the same. We had a waiter that was lazy and seemed to not care about us because we are young. Oh well, it happens. The filet mignon is delightfully tasty; try the peppercorn sauce to really bring out the steak's flavor. The crowd is mixed; some overdressed, most underdressed. Reservations are a must and the valet parking on Saturday can be hectic. Be there early.

Pros: Steak, Wines, Some of the waiters

Cons: Condescending service, crowded, Coat check skills
