JD AND VICTOR'S should be listed as one of the seven wonders of the world. If you are tired of having bad hair days be sure and ask for chris. On your first visit with him he will spend time just looking at your face, your eyes, your "look" -- just to decide what cut and color matches "YOU." The whole experience with chris will be all about YOU. He is a master with the scissors and his cut will make you feel more photogenic -- because you will be. I have lived in SA TX for a long time (years) and can promise you that he is the best. I now have four other people going to him, and they all say they have been spoiled and can't imagine going to see anyone else. chris never cuts corners with his time and will make you his work of art. And when you leave there you will have no trouble maintaining your style. My hair actually just falls into place on its own. I only have good things to say about chris He's very confident, and he has reason to be. If he ever leaves SA TX I'll have to travel to him because he's irreplaceable. I never give reviews, but I had to praise him.
I am very particular when it comes to my hair and ever since moving to the U.S. over a decade ago I have had more than my share of horrible haircut experiences that sometimes left me in tears. Not this time! I came to jd&victor's because I read the positive reviews on Citysearch and am VERY happy with my color and cut. My previous stylist was never able to give me a precise haircut (I have short hair) and the mileage I got from those cuts was about 10 days. After that it began looking completely out of shape, giving me "helmet or broom head". My philosophy has always been that with a great cut, I won't have to go back to my stylist too, too soon. And I think I got what I wanted this time! jd approach seemed effortless with both color and cut. An anxious moment came when at the end he whipped out brush and dryer, because usually I do not use either. Having somewhat curly hair, I normally just scrunch my hair with a bit of product and that's it. But oh, what a pleasant surprise - I actually looked quite cool and not like a boring, middle-aged housewife, which is what that brush/dryer approach usually does to me. I left the salon with great color, shiny, healthy-looking hair and an updated look I had almost forgotten one could achieve. Thanks, jd- I'll be back!
False, Illegal Advertising

I am a professional makeup artist, and as such, I have a body of images representing my work. Any pro worth their salt does. This salon, however, chose to steal images from other makeup artists whom they have no relationship with to promote their Halloween Makeup Artist Bren.
Would I put my face or hair in the hands of a stylist that does not show her own work in adverts, but chooses to steal other artist's images and imply that it's theirs? No way!
Keep in mind, the salon owners could have been professional and purchased stock images if they had no photos of their own work (but, again, why don't they want us to see what they do?) Instead they stole images and refused to take them down when the artist who created them asked. They actually went from using the image to publicize the talent of their "FX artist" Bren to using the SAME image to say that the artist that created it (a well known internet persona) was an amateur and that Bren was better.
My question- if Bren is so much better, why isn't BREN'S WORK ON DISPLAY?
- Pros: none
- Cons: images presented as this salon's work are STOLEN!
Horrendous
by katelouise
I can't even believe he can operate as a business. He steals other peoples' work then claims it as his own. When found out he ridicules the person instead of doing the proper thing and taking them down.
If I could, I would give him 0 stars
- Pros: Absolutely nothing
- Cons: Completely unprofessional and a theif
Unethical Business Practice
by ScarletBloodDoll
The owner of this 'business' is unprofessional, child - ish and needs to take several courses on proper business management.
The owner has stole other Make - Up Artists & Photographers hard work and attempted to pass it off as his own.
He proceeded to mock said Artists & Photographers when asked to remove the pictures.
Do not support this behavior and unethical business practices.
- Pros: None.
- Cons: Thief, Disrespectful, Unprofessional, Unethical
Steals Photography and LIES to his customers
by CloverMay
Stole an image, tried passing it off as his own work. When asked to simply remove the image, Victor Garcia, this thieving owner, kept it online and preceded to make a spectacle of his ridiculous behavior. Who would dream of letting someone this immature and idiotic touch their hair?!?!
- Pros: Disrespectful
- Cons: Liar, Theif
Don't go there!!

The owner of this salon Victor is very unprofessional. He tried to steal copyright material and claim it as his own. When I sent him an email about this he replied "I have so much money in my account. I make money off of stupid people". I can't believe he called his clients stupid.
- Pros: none
- Cons: Steals copyright material & abusive when given a complaint
0 stars for stealing other people's work.
by MissP
The owner of this salon stole multiple pictures of other makeup artists and photographers on the web and added it to their website without permission. He also tried to pass the photos as the work of the salon's own makeup artist. Then when he was confronted by one of the artists and asked to remove the stolen pictures, he reacted by mocking said artist. This is completely unprofessional and childish. It is ironic that this person has a copyright clause at the bottom of the website's main page because he obviously doesn't respect them.
Victor, you messed with the wrong person because these artists have a large (and loyal) internet following
- Pros: none
- Cons: unethical behavior, unprofessional
Don't Support Unethical Behavior
by Sue15
Taking credit for and/or bashing other artists are not acceptable practices. Do not support unethical business practices. JD and Victor need to have permission before posting photos of others’ work to their website.
Not a positive experience

I should have known from all of the drama and mixed reviews. We just relocated to San Antonio and purchased a home in Alta Vista and I like to support my local community and am big on convenience. I scheduled an appointment for hair color only to arrive to an appt with no hair stylist scheduled. I specifically spoke to JD who scheduled my appt and said he would be doing my color. Its amazing that this salon has so much business that they would turn away a customer who has color and cut consistently every four weeks. I don't care how good they might be, its not worth the attitude, or aggrivation. If I had an attitude, it was because I was shocked at the lack of professionalism. I encourage this salon to reach out to clients and create relationships. No one wants to be welcomed to the neighborhood this way!
- Pros: Don't know, Never got past front desk
- Cons: Rude and unprofessional
