In Short
The store carries a broad variety of one-of-a-kind bamboo items for both indoor and outdoor living. Top selling indoor items include dining and living room sets, beds, lighting, vases and pillows. For backyards and gardens, shoppers find gazebos, fountains, woven hammocks, tiki bars and traditional Thai resting platforms called salas. Other items include ong jars (traditional rainwater cisterns), bamboo lumber, paneling and flooring. Thai silk handbags, scarves, shawls and bedclothes round out the fashion collection.
Thaiaberas and more!

I couldn't believe the great Thai-styled guayaberas "Thaiaberas"? Perfect for our laid-back city and hot climate. They also have these huge Thai/Asian water cisterns which are the only cool alternative to plastic or wood barrels for a rain water collection system--something that will be in high demand here some day. Lots of good Bamboo stock, which could be used for all sorts of home projects. Lots of great Asian contemporary furniture/accessories for indoors and outdoors. Just looking around the showroom will give you an idea of all the possibilities.
With all the chain-store malls sprining up around 1604 and beyond, it's good to see a unique and stylish business in our city. Check it out---it's a good look at the style of Thailand and Asia!
- Pros: Great ambiance and stylish interior. Knowledgable couple/owners helping out.

I agree, this is one of the best new things in SA. I highly recommend checking it out. The couple who owns it were so sweet and helpful, I was very impressed. I bought a purse there it's so cute ,people stop me constantly to ask where it's from. The furniture is awesome , I'm going to have to make room for the big couch I want. I'd really like to build an eco friendly home and furnish it with the help of these folks. When you do go there, make sure to sit in the little huts and gazebos outside in the garden, it's really neat.
- Pros: Anbience, service,style,eco friendly,chic

I'm happy to see someone in San Antonio is finally bring attention to Rain Water collection, the fountains are relly nice to. Good stuff everywhere. I saw a unique dining room set I really want to buy. All and all very cool. I went to the grand opening a few months ago , they had a monk do an hour long blessing all around the outside garden then had great bands and margaritas it was fun and refreshing .
BEST NEW ADDITION TO SAN ANTONIO!!!
by freespirit777
Big Grass Bamboo is hands down the most unique place to buy furniture in San Antonio I was shocked when I found it (a pagoda and beautiful fountains on hilderbrand??) It was a nice break from all the antiques. Just walking in the doors you feel as sense of cleanliness and peace. The atmosphere is lovely and the service top notch but the furniture... is BEAUTIFUL.
I've traveled and lived all over the world and I was so happy to see such cool unique and environmentally conscious store in my home town. I spoke with the owners who were super friendly about these giant vessels (They look like huge vases) displayed throughout the place, he said the were rain water collectors that are very popular in Asia and a very good idea it seemed. Apparently the owner and his wife (who is from Thailand) go to Thailand often and hand pick everything in the store.
The place also boasts some of the most gorgeous furniture I've ever seen well...anywhere. They have all shapes and sizes of tables and chairs for both indoors and for your patio. My favorite were these extremely stylish bamboo Chaise lounge chairs in their living room section, they immediately brought to mind the pages of Dwell magazine and the hotels you see in Travel and Leisure . Seriously if you want to improve your home or buy someone a one of a kind gift go to this place. They even have ladies clothes and had bags!
I walked away with some beautiful new things, some new friends and a wonderful feeling not only about what I bought but also a new found hope that San Antonio is finally "Getting It". I highly recommend this place to everybody, both for the view the wonderful things to but and for the experience
*****.I'm really excited and totally back this place!
