Best Acupuncture for fertility in San Antonio!

I have been to another well known acupuncturist in town and I can't even compare them to Kirsten and David's practice. I have had nothing but positive,helpful, and encouraging support from them. I had stage IV endometriosis and after being treated for only a few months I am now at a stage I with hardly any endometriosis left. They have been a blessing to me and soon I know we'll be pregnant!

A Place Focused On Healing and Hope

All you have to do is read through their website to see that this is a place focused on healing and hope.

I found TCRA sort of by accident. I had fertility issues for 2.5 years that resulted in using fertility medicine to get pregnant, which ended in a miscarriage at 10 wks. I moved to SA shortly after and didn't want to focus on fertility but wanted to find an acupuncturist because I feel better when I get it. I had seen other acupuncturists in the past who tried to help with my fertility issues but weren't fertility specialists. I happened across TCRA online and decided I'd try them but not focus on fertility. After meeting with David, however, I had a renewed hope for the possibility of having my problems healed through the use of acupuncture, herbs, and the diet that they recommend. I signed up for 6 mo of acupuncture and herbs, my periods continued to regulate, I felt better, and 3 months later I was pregnant!!!

I continued to see them through my first trimester, which helped greatly with my anxiety over whether the pregnancy would last. It also helped with my nausea and fatigue. With a healthy pregnancy under way at 14 wks, they happily sent me on my way to enjoy my second trimester and return at 34 wks for more acupuncture to help prepare for labor. This was great for me as well. I truly believe it helped me have a fast and smooth labor that came naturally and on time!

David and Kirsten are wonderful people who care about their patients. They have great wisdom in fertility, acupuncture, and health. They are friendly and enjoyable to be around. I always looked forward to meeting with them and found that they were always willing and able to answer any questions I might have. Kirsten also was wonderful to help me in my journey to become a mother as she is a mother herself and has great insight and advice.

I recommend TCRA to anyone who is struggling with infertility or anyone who has female health issues. May you find healing and hope at TCRA as I did.

Help for Endometriosis and PCOS

I was diagnosed with both PCOS and endometriosis several years ago after suffering through painful periods that got worse and worse and that eventually took over the better part of my months. Last year, the pain from my endometriosis led me to having laparoscopic surgery to have excess tissue removed.

After my surgery, my doctor put me on continuous birth control. This caused insane mood swings, and my pain didn't go away; in fact, it grew to the point of my taking three Aleve a day. And still, I was in pain. Many "normal" women only have pelvic pain during one week out of the month, if any time at all. I was the opposite: there was only one week out of the month where I *wasn't* in intense pain.

Back in March, I heard about TCRA and decided to give it a chance. I wasn't sure that they accepted patients like me, since I'm only 20 years old and am not a fertility case. They do. After much thought and several weeks of acupuncture, I stopped taking birth control entirely, and I immediately had a period. Since that time, my menstrual flow has changed from the dark brown characteristic of endometriosis to a bright, healthy red. My periods have already stabilized to around 28-31 days. I've been consistently ovulating around mid-cycle, even with my PCOS. And today I am ecstatic to report that my pain is now down from a 10 to a 2 during my period. I have very little to no pain throughout the rest of the month, and I still have several months to go in my treatment. My condition improves every single month. I never expected results so fantastic, and the great thing is, my body is doing it all without nasty chemicals, artificial hormones, or the adverse side effects from these.

If you have endo or PCOS, I strongly encourage you to call TCRA. David and Kirsten are fantastic people who are devoted to their profession and dedicated to the lives of their patients. I could never thank them enough for all they've given me.

The extra bit I needed for a family

I began reproductive acupuncture at TCRA in San Antonio when we began seeing an RE for infertility. My problem wasn't actually getting pregnant, but staying pregnant.

I truly believe that the acupuncture helped me conceive more quickly, and then helped prevent miscarriage and encourage a thick uterine lining. It also minimized morning sickness, back pain, and stress.

I found the acupuncture sessions very relaxing and yet invigorating. I would melt onto the table in a puddle of warmth and usually drift off to sleep. But I would leave refreshed and renewed and energized. I knew bld. was flowing to my uterus and that a prime environment was being created for my baby.

My dreams have come true, and the people at TCRA helped make that happen!

Excellent Service

My husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for two years after a previous miscarriage. We were seeing a fertility specialist and one day my husband found TCRA's website and thought we should go and see what they were all about. I am 39 years old so I felt that we needed something beyond western medicine. When we met Kirsten she immediately set my mind at ease and I felt more positive and hopeful than I had in months. We went through the six month treatment program and had our first IVF cycle and it worked. We are 9 weeks pregnant today. I am still seeing TCRA for the first trimester and I love their continued support and encouragement. I recommend them to all of my friends!

Highly & Happily Recommend!

After about 2 1/2 years of struggling with infertilty & receiving traditional Western treatments, I finally followed my instincts & looked into accupuncture. I researched several places & decided to give TCRA a chance. I chose them because they worked out of a traditional Western infertility clinic & they specialized in infertility. It was very different from any medical treatment I had ever received before. I was a bit doubtful initially but with the support of my case manager, Kirsten, I stuck with it and found success! Open your mind & your heart & let them help you find peace.

Amazing group, outstanding service, great results

The team of acupuncturist that David and Kirsten have put together is incredible. They work with the patient needs in mind as their most important goal. As an IVF provider I have work with them for over 2 years and I am very pleased with their professional service. They dialogue with the patient and when appropriate combine medical and acupuncture therapies. The only winner is the patient who truly gets a holistic approach. If you are looking for acupuncture, stop looking: Texas Center for Reproductive Acupunctuer is your place. I wholeheartedly recommended it.

A Success Story

I had stage 3 endometriosis and my husband and I had been trying to conceive for almost 3 years when we met David and Kirsten. We were at the end of our rope and felt we had exhausted all of our resources which included 7 IUIs, injectible medications,and 3 surgeries. David and Kirsten restored our hope by treating us like family and encouraging us to continue to make our dream of have having a child a reality. We met weekly and became more than just patients...we were friends. After 6 months of acupuncture I had a surgery to clean out any remaining endometriosis only to be told by my ob/gyn and fertility specialist that the endometriosis was completely gone!!! Two months later we went through the IVF process and nine months later we were blessed with TWO healthy twin boys. Our dreams came true and we gained friend in the process. I recommend Texas Center for Reproductive Acupuncture to anyone who is struggling with infertility. Thanks David and Kirsten. We are forever grateful!!

Amazing Results

At 52 years old I have started to approach menopause with a significant amount of hot flashes. With a family history of breast cancer I realy wanted to avoid hormone replacement therapies, but did not want to be uncomfortable. I have never really dealt with any holistic or herbal medications, not that I did not believe in them I just was not sure how they worked. After speaking with Kirsten she advised me to try some herbs to see if that would help with the hot flashes. Within 1-2 weeks I had about a 70% reduction in hot flashes and waking up at night. I used the herbs for about 2 months and then reduced the dosage and now I am not taking anything and I feel great!

The care I received was great and I could not be happier with the end result. No more hot flashes.

Why Can't I Conceive?

I should preface my review by saying that I was raised in a western medicine family: my grandfather was a doctor, my grandmother a nurse, my father a doctor, my mother a physical therapist, my aunts are both nurses etc. So, understanding and reaching out to eastern medicine practices, like acupuncture, tested my belief system and that of my family's. But, I was a 30-year-old woman, completely healthy, physically active and diagnosed with "unexplained infertility" after 2 1/2 years of trying naturally followed by 4 rounds of Femara treatment at my OB/GYN's office and finalized by an exam from a renowned fertility specialist in Austin. I had no obvious fertility problems according to the Drs. So just before we embarked on the $25,000 attempt at more aggressive fertility treatment, we decided to try the TCRA. My initial visit with Kirsten left my slightly crestfallen in that she said I needed 3 months of "not trying" to get my body in optimum shape to conceive. I'd already waited so long, I wanted a baby now. But then she explained the reasons, and it all seemed to make sense, I trusted her. We followed the program for 3 months and conceived - accidentally and totally naturally - in the third month. Now, I'm about to deliver in 3 weeks. I've returned to TCRA for help during my first trimester with issues of digestion, morning sickness and allergies and now I'm back again addressing issues of swelling, indigestion and labor preparation. All the practitioners at TCRA are kind, willing to answer even the stupidest of questions, and very explanatory about all the details of the process and even how acupuncture is meant to help. I swear by TCRA.
